5-2 Kings

Kopi (2), Doughty, Johnson, Sturm.

Hall (2)

Can't take them lightly, like we did with teh Blues.

True. Let's hope their defense is akin to that of the Avs: nonexistent.

Oilers are a very dangerous team. If the Kings aren't ready, they will get spanked. Hopefully, the St. Louis game is fresh in their minds and they won't turn back into Hyde tonight...

Last 7 games:

Flames W 2-1
Wild L 2-3 (OT)
Wings W 5-0
Blues L 4-6
Preds W 6-1
Hawks L 2-3
Avs W 5-0

Which Kings team shows up tonight?

Oilers' penalty kill is dead last in the league. If ever there was a time for the Kings power play to finally get it in gear, this better be the night. I will be watching with folded arms and narrowed eyes.

BTW.....is it just me, or (considering their injured players, too) do those guys have WAY too many skilled forwards?

Hemsky
Horcoff
Hall
Eberle
MPS
Cogs
Penner
Gagner
Brule (well, he used to be considered "skilled" )
If you mean skilled as in dangles and what not, the players in red do not fit the bill. If you meant good, the players in red do not fit the bill . A few of those guys aren't in our long term plans.

I don't know, I think Cogs is pretty skilled and Penner is good for what he is.. I've watched a lot of Oiler games so far this year and I sometimes wonder why they aren't competing for a playoff spot yet..

They're starting to get better goaltending now...Their defense, and their young forwards who are learning to play 2-way hockey at an NHL level are holding them back right now.

No, I would say the difference in our home/away records are purely coincidence. Our losing streak started at the sharks game, and following that 6/7 games were on the road. I don't think being at home would have changed the results of those games. But, that doesn't mean home ice in the playoffs isn't important.

I think i've found Doughty's problem this season... Anyone that eats Animal Fires is bound to not be able to play normally.

- Sub-par defense
- let all their good faceoff men leave via free agency or traded them away
- terrible pk (partly due to point #2)
- sub-par PP (again, partly due to point #2)
- no true shutdown defensive forwards and, arguably, no true shutdown defenseman

BTW, regarding the OP, if Hall and Peckham are alternate captains then that is news to me. Whitney, Penner, and Gilbert are wearing "A's" - there is no one with the "C" as Horcoff is hurt.

Hopefully the Kings came ready to play. But considering it's the first game after a long road trip I have my doubts.
