3. Provide a link.

ECK Part 3

They want secondary scoring. They love Josh Bailey, and there has been some talk they wopuld love to grab Plekanec out of Montreal(whom I personally think is not worth the cap hit.) The real key here may be Cory Schneider who Montreal loves. The Habs are in the market for a backup right now. Its amazing how quiet they have kept it, but its equally amazing how many teams have had discussions about their goalies with Montreal...

no offense but it's all BS

1st Plekanec isnt going anywhere unless a C of equal talent (or better) comes back

2nd our back-up isnt playing, so who cares who it is ?

3rd we already went the "two young G route", chances are it wont happen again soon.

The issue was signing a backup they have zero confidence in.

Sam are you quoting your sources, or Eklund directly? You do this sometimes, maybe put quotes around it if it's not you, thanks.

Anyone here agree with EK that Pleks isn't worth his 5 million dollar cap hit? Not that anyone here should care about the crap he spews..

So now he is saying the Canucks are interested in the Habs #1 center who just signed a longterm contract? Seriously EK where do you get this crap from?

From a team who has Gomez as the no2 centre... the rumors are becoming quite pathetic now, not even entertaining... Plekanec for a backup goalie who could play 10 games a year ?

Plekanec is Martin's man... he's going absolutely nowhere.

Wow, just wow! This is proof that anyone can run a successful website by saying stuff they know absolutely nothing about. I think I'm gonna start a conspiracy theory website about how aliens will take over the world after 2012.

That's the single stupidest thing I've ever seen on his site, and there has been some monumentally stupid stuff on there.

Today, he mentioned Montreal as a "buyer". Personally, they should be more of a "trader". This team needs to make a hockey trade to get things going. Maybe something like AK for Goligoski?

Of course we are buyers, can you imagine we miss the playoffs after that great start? Gauthier knows he doesn't make the playoffs he is gone as fast as he got this job. Molson needs playoff hockey in this city

If the Pens wanna trade Goligoski, I'd be all over that trade. They could have AK cause it doesn't look like he is part of this teams plans going forward for the next couple of years and him being an UFA might as well get something for him

heck no! The D is set and done.

Get some freacking players who show emotion and toughness. I just spent the last 2 weeks in L.A watching the Kings. When the team goes flat Murray just puts in players like Brown, Clifford, Simmonds, Richardson and Westgarth a little more and it gets the team going for the rest of the team.

First of all, Kostitsyn is NOT a UFA after this season. Secondly, he may not be part of Martin's plans but he should be part of the team's plans. Third, Gauthier has made more good moves than Martin this year. If anyone goes, it should be the coach not the GM. Finally, Goligoski benefits from being on a PP that features Crosby, Malkin and Letang. He probably wouldn't look so good shackled by Martin's "system".

Of course the playoffs are important, but how much do you sacrifice the longer term future of the team in order to scrape into the playoffs. THAT is the tough question. And what if you do sacrifice the future and still don't make the playoffs. Then it suddenly becomes a lose-lose situation.

if we can find a 50 pts player (cause that's what AK is) elsewhere, why should he be part of the team's future ?

Today he mentioned Frolov coming to Montreal due to the chemistry he and Cammo had in LA. He would fill a size need, but I'm not sure what the Rangers would want in return. Any takers?
