I just hope he doesn't rush himmself back. You've already missed 35+ games Jordan. Take a few extra games and come back 100%

Also, is it his left or right hand, anybody know? If it's his right, I'd be a little more cautious.

Kind of crazy that he was such an "Ironman" before Subban's skate sliced his tendons up last year, huh?

Rub some dirt on it and get back in the game.

More progress toward recovery. Staal skated this morning with Brent Johnson and Kadar.

This is either good news for Staalzy or bad news for BJ.

I love how he throws in the Islander game as a possibility, but given that the practice today had an opening for a fill in on line rushes and DB used Engelland and not Staal I think he's farther away that that.

Eh, I wouldn't necessarily read that far into it.

Man, it looks like I'll be able to wear my Staal jersey on Jan 6 when the Pens play here in Mtl after all!

A return against the Islanders would be nice since Mrs Lawnyiris, myself and junior will be sitting behind the Pen's bench at the Nassau Mausoleum tomorrow night

I'd hold him out until mid January. I want him to be 1000% okay for playoffs.

If they're bumped out by Staal's return, then they weren't battling hard enough or they just weren't very good.

There's no reason to keep him out of the lineup if he's medically fit to play and the hand feels fine.

Yeah, and Staal too has been battling extra hard to get ready for the classic. He's arguably our third-most important player. It won't suck at all when he's finally back in the lineup.

I'm not saying it will suck w/ Jordan back in the lineup. Just imagine getting a call-up and battling through 40 games just to be told you have to sit out of the one game being hyped up larger than anything else.

It doesn't bother me. I'm just saying it sucks for the guy who will be watching it from the presser.

Staal is one of the most important cogs on the team, I'd much rather he get to experience the Winter Classic than say Mike Rupp or Chris Conner.

I'm sure Chris Conner is used to it, by now. The disappointment, I mean. It's his resilience and bounce-back ability that probably got him the 20-game trial this season to begin with.

C'est la vie. Whomever gets demoted (most likely Conner) will get over it.
