When things are going good and the Habs get out to a lead they are a tough team to beat. But when the Habs aren't playing well and and fall behind they can't change the Momentum of the game,I don't think they have a comeback with in the third all year. We don't have a player/ line that can go out a throw a few big hits to change the momentum , or do we have a player or 2 that can go out and drop the gloves and win a fight to change the momentum. Almost every team in the NHL has these types of players. I ask 2 questions 1 Does anyone else see this when watching the games? 2 Why don't we have these types of player they are not hard to find most of them make under a Million $ a year.
Over the last 5 years we have traded, let go or left in the minors every player that would stick up for himself and the rest of his teammates, guys like ... Chipchura, O'Byrne, Stewart, Henry, White, Mara, Souray, Komisarek, Rivet , Bouillon, Begin, Downey, Laraque, Murray, Kostopoulos, Leach, Flinn ,Bonneau, Conboy, Neilson, and the list goes on and have replaced them with hmmmmm just Travis Moen(The guy is scared to death and who could blame him I would be too playing on a team with no grit and having to try and stick up for them) really Montreal Management wake up the fans are crying for guys that play with an edge. management must be at the games cause I know I was and I seen the crowd go crazy for Cams when he dropped the gloves. No team in the NHL would want there 5 foot 8 $6 million player fighting but He had to stick up for himself cause no one else will. WHAT A JOKE
There are only a handful of players in the NHL that can change the game with their offensive and we don't have any of them and they are very hard to trade for plus they cost 8 million $. So why not try and get a spark plug player and a tough guy to help change monentum when we have too? Oh maybe you are the type of fan that doesn't think hockey should have fighting well I seen 23 000 fans jump out of there seats to see Cams fight last week. EVERY good Montreal team thru the years had tough players wake up people and Gauthier the Pyatt, Darche, Pouliots, Halperns, Lapierres,Ellers, Boyds, are not the type of players that can bring grit to a team. You have to have some nasty players playing on the third and forth lines. Don't you guys remember Nilan,Kordic,Corson, Lemieux,Skrudland,McPhee,Keane,Tremblay,Hunter, Momesso,Rooney,Maley,Ewen,Martinson,Robergex2,Mull er,Stevenson,Brashear, Flemming,Murray,Tucker,Thorton,Vukota,Cummins,Lang don,Odjick,Asham,Dwyer,Simpson,Mckay,Blouin,Begin, Downey,Risebrough, And I also forgot the toughest player in NHL history John Ferguson who scored 29 goals in a single year!!!!! I am not sure if the HAbs brain trust needs to take a look at some old game tapes or what to realize you have to have tough players to win the tough games but I can see it. Chnage the face of this team I know it is hard to do in the top 6 forwards cause everyone wants a 210 pound winger that can hit score and fight( I think we could have got 1 for Halak = Ryane Clowe) but In the bottom 6 forwards we should be dressing atleast 4 guys that can hit and drop the gloves and play on the pk. WAKE UP HABS and go and get these players.
