Lucic to have Hearing (12/26 update : Confirmed not suspended, posts #162-168)

Because of Lucic match penalty the hearing is automatic.
Probably just a fine.

If it's a suspension, it's still worth it. Lucic has to play near the edge to be as effective as he can be. Let him go stir up the hornet's nest from time to time. He's a big boy, he can take care of himself and deal with the consequences.

Guys will think twice about going up high on Lucic now. I would take a 3 game suspension to send a message before someone puts me out for 50 games with a concussion or broken face.

Right, have a reputation is one of the most important things in the NHL. If he shows this all the time, it'll give him the room to score more, hit more, etc.

This is where having Greg Campbell finally comes in handy.

So clean that he got an elbowing penalty for it.

Dear enemy combatant,

If you are going to enter bruins territory for the sake of being contrary, it is respectful to both us and your own attempt to look intelligent, that you know the facts first. Meyer threw an elbow up high that caught lucic at the shoulder, under the chin, and ended with his face. Meyers was sent away with a major for elbowing and targeting the head.

Of course you're probably just upset our playmaking centers beat up your star players. Ole ole ole. Goodbye

Besides the fact that he's our best 4th line center in forever, right? Better than Metro, who was the best we'd had in decades.

Not so sure i take a suspension to prove a point. If teams think Lucic will lose his cool, then he will be a target.

Losing ones cool happens. Two of my all-time Bruins favorites lost it frequently; Terry O'reilly and Cam Neely.

Caron. No doubt in my mind.

I'll put the line here that I put in another thread and see what people think.

Recchi-Savard-Horton
Wheeler-Bergeron-Seguin
Caron-Krejci-Ryder
Paille-Campbell-Thornton

I'd go to war with that, frankly that's a really decent lineup. If that's our Plan B, then by all means let Lucic run a little wild.

This is not his first offense.

Call me crazy but I could see 2 games. Campbell's come down hard on Lucic every chance he's had so far, and 2 games would keep Lucic out of the rematch next week (which is in the league's interest if they think that could get out of control).

Should be nothing more than a fine. Wasn't even close to a KO punch. We'll see.

Campbell isn't judging this one. He's recusing himself when the Bruins come up because his son plays for them. Which was a masterstroke by Chia, especially since Greg Campbell is also a really good 4th line center, maybe the best we've had in a very long time

I say:

Both got 0 games.

Gotta be consistent you know, that's why Cooke got 0 games because they had to be consistent with the Richards hit:

I'd prefer to see Recchi and Wheeler switched, but that's just me.

I really want to see what Wheeler-Bergy-Seguin looks like. That looks like a beautiful three-zone pairing to me. Wouldn't maybe score a ton but would keep the defense back and has the potential to be dangerous and explosive.
