The Flyers were banking on Giroux continuing his solid play from last year and Van Reimsdyk taking the next step and they've both delivered. It certainly helps to have Jagr pulling a Selanne and going at a PPG clip too. Briere hasn't slowed down either.

Carter and Richards are good players but the Flyers were stupidly rich with prospects.

Flyers had nothing in the way of prospects prior to pulling the trigger on the Carter and Richards trades, I really don't know what you mean, unless you are still considering Giroux and JVR as "prospects"... In fact, they still have near nothing outside of Schenn and Couturier right now...

Perhaps, prospects wasn't the right word. The Flyers have been really good at developing the prospects that they do have over the past several years. Schenn and Couturier are in good hands.

Matt Read was also a great signing out of college.

Don't even think the visor mattered, looked like he got hit in the forehead and got a pressure cut.

That's just frightening, I saw a bit of the highlight on TSN, but when I flipped to the game, I saw the huge blood stain on the visor, then the trainer moves his had and the helmet's just soaked red with blood.

Hope he's ok. This is all the more reason to give crazy props to Laddy Smid, and others, who have the balls to block these shots.

Teams around the league should feel embarrassed when they get owned by the Dallas "Cap Floor" Stars.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this but i found it hilarious that the swedish goalie toronto signed this offseason, Mark Owuya also has a ****** career back in swedin. He was on Swedish Idol. Its good to see that if he turns out like most of the goalies Toronto has brought up the past few years he has another career to fall back on
