What do you think the new lineup will be?

I gave it a shot in the other thread

Foligno-Regin-Alfredsson
Michalek-Fisher-Kovalev
Ruutu-Kelly-Neil
Shannon-Winchester-Smith

I'd run with..

Regin - Kelly - Alfredsson
Michalek - Fisher - Kovalev
Ruutu - Smith/Winny - Neil
Foligno - Smith/Winny - Shannon

Whenever Chris Kelly is on the top line and Spezza is out...

Good things happen.. At least that is all I can remember.

Z. Smith got the call up. So it won't be Butler or Locke..

(Although I think Locke should have got a shot.. would have been fun to see him thrown into the 1st line lol!

From where I stand, it would be nice of the organization to give Corey Locke a chance in taking some of Spezza's minutes. He's a natural center, his skill set matches that of a frontline guy (minus the size), and he's put up great numbers this year with the Baby Sens. Why not?

Michalek - Locke - Alfie
Foligno - Fisher - Kovalev
Ruutu - Kelly - Neil
Regin - Winnie - Shannon

I'd give Locke a 1 game experiment playing alongside talent....I don't believe it would end well, but crazier things have happened...might as well find out. The only thing is that it's a little bit of a slap in the face to Regin.

I'm in favour of giving Locke a shot at it. 3 games to show what he can do with some top line minutes.

I think he just might prove all the doubters wrong.

I'd say Locke deserves a chance but I'd be more comfortable with Smith. In the end I'd say go with Locke to see what he can do.

Regin has a goal and 11 points in 35 games... I like the guy but Locke has earned a shot at top 6 just as much as he has. I think it'll end up being Fisher as 1 and Regin as 2.

I'm ok with this. Even a few games it won't hurt. Not really a slap in the face to regin because he will still get a bit more ice time, and he doesn't have the stats to deserve more

I'm not sure exactly what it will be, because Clouston never keeps anything for more than a shift; however, I do believe that this will be our chance to see exactly if Regin has what it takes to consistently turn it up. He's been either unlucky or in the doghouse all season, so this is really his opportunity to show if he can be top-6 material and to prove Clouston wrong.

I think this is the perfect opportunity to see what Corey Locke can do. What do we have to loose? Regin will get more minutes as well, its not like Locke is going to take all of Spezza's even strength and PK minutes.

Locke might be a top 6 forward who's sitting right under our noses. Despite all his flaws he'd still be one of the most skilled players on this team. Plus, I really believe in rewarding guys. Surely, Locke has earned himself a couple of games?

Spezza's the best faceoff guy though so I'd understand calling up Smith instead if they feel he can help in that area over Locke.

We need to re-call 2 players, imo.

Corey Locke and Butler. Butler was extremely effective when he was called up, imo.

If its six weeks unless whomever gets called up tomorrow lights the league on fire chances are they all might get a chance. Id like Locke to get the first shot though.

Im thinking itll be Z Smith though

I'm of this opinion. Hopefully Regin and Kovi can rekindle their chemistry.

Make it Foligno-Regin-Shannon and leave Kovy on the bottom line where he seems to perform better.

I have to admit I don't understand this move. We were offensively challenged before Spezza was injured. So we call up Smith ?

If Locke doesn't get called up now then he never will be. We should release him to play overseas in that case.

I don't know if he can play at the NHL level - but there is no way Regin has earned a 2nd line centre job. If he had a two way contract I'd say send him to the miners.

That one goal stat is disgusting and reflects his offensive play. He looks like a career third liner this year.

Apparently, it's a big opportunity for Regin

Foligno-Fisher-Kovalev
Michalek-Regin-Alfie
Ruutu-Kelly-Neil
Smith-Winchester-Shannon

Two 2nd lines, two 3rd lines. They have to be consistent now, no more time to slump.

I was going to post those lines except that Shannon should be on RW & Smith on LW. I wouldn't mind CC breaking up that 3rd line considering that this team needs a shake up anyway, why not try something completely different.

Michalek - Fisher - Alfredson
Ruutu - Regin - Kovalev
Foligno - Kelly - Shannon
Z. Smith - Winchester - Neil
