Stapleton was at the end of his waiver period anyway. I thought Cormier should have spent the entire season in Chicago, but I'm not surprised he got called up. If Duds and rammer think he's ready, then he's ready.

I am interested to see what he can do. I am holding my enthusiasm in check at this point. Very happy to see Stapleton sent back down.

he has pretty solid numbers in his 11 games in CHI...including a stellar +8

extremely happy that Stapleton is gone. I think Cormier sits tonight and plays for Bergfors on Thursday.

I think he plays tonight. They want his defense in there against Pittsburgh.

With Antro out, I'd expect both Cormier and Bergfors to play and Eager to sit.

Viv tweets that Burmi may be the one who sits and Cormier plays.

Burmi definitely needs a rest. He's out of gas.

I don't think Burmistrov is out of gas. I think he's been centering the wrong players. Two stone hands and a deke machine (Where it's at!) don't go well together.

Burmistrov has struggled some lately. It would do the kid some good to sit a game and watch.

The kid worked hard this summer to make it to 180lbs. That was the weight they want him playing at. Players typically lose weight during the course of the season. Given the stretch of 9 games in 14 days - I'm guessing he's down to 170 lbs soaking wet. Give him a break for a few games and let him re-fuel.

this..

Plus, with the headhunting I'm expecting out of Boston on thursday, I think not having Burmistrov in is a good idea....

Gonna give Man of Dest a run for his money.

I like the new Top 6, would like it a little better with Little still in the middle, but hey I'll take what I can get.

Gotta go play the lottery.

Well this sure seems to have stirred the hornets nest over at the Bruins board.

Yeah, I saw that thread. Kind of silly that they think it has anything to do with their team even though people had been predicting it before last week's game.

i think it's hilarious that they're so worked up over it. there must be a fine line between an acceptable dirty action (sucker punching a player held by the refs) and unacceptable ones. it's also amusing that some also say they hope he takes out cooke tonight and gets suspended.

No kidding. They're seriously delusional if they honestly think any hockey club would call up a kid for his first NHL shot just to get him to go out there and try and do something dirty and/or injure someone. The kid is just getting his chance to play. There's nothing more to it than that.
