Wiz must be blown away by this trade.

Wow, what a ripoff. Habs win this in a landslide.

What in the world is Snow thinking? By the deadline multiple teams will be looking for a defensemen.

He was acquired for a cond. 3rd from Anaheim... they got a good deal I think.

He'll be this year's MAB for the Habs. Much more physical though.

I would guess they're claiming Rolston. thus they dump salary beforehand.

Does this give Habs fans more inclination that Markov may not return next season?

Lol, the only way wiz resigns is for $4.5-5 mill a year. He isn't worth that, which is why he has been dumped by 2 teams so far this year.

2nd round pick is a pretty good pick. A 1st would be overpayment. I'd say it's pretty good value.

Move saves Wang money.

Repeating: move $ave$ Wang money.

Guess it also means Hamonic is likely to stay for the duration.

Wisniewski is a middling player. Overrated by some upon his acquisition by NYI, this should not be viewed as more than a good depth move by the Habs. (I mean, really..."Great"?..."Win by a landslide"? You'd think the Habs just acquired Bobby Orr. )

If the Islanders are now below the cap floor... Anyone else smell a re-entry claim on Rolston coming soon?

Excellent trade for the weirdos. I didn't know they had cap space to play with...can't say I like it, from a rival's point-of-view, but looks like a great move.

Touché!

Maybe he told them he wouldn't re-sign?

He's an impending UFA isn't he? They don't have much value, as we've seen many times before.

The 2nd round pick is the 50th overall right? They traded away their other pick?

Great trade for Montreal and it looks like New York is going in to full tank mode.

Everything I have read has the 2011 draft as very top heavy, so (IMO) this is just the first of many 2nd rounders to be moved.

On the bright side, Snow flipped a 3rd for a 2nd and a 5th...Other than that, I'm not psyched about that move, AT ALL. I wanted Weber or Desharnais. Only way that I'll be okay with that move, is if Snow makes other move using those assets (getting a forward).

Either way, the Isles have 10 d-men under contract, so get some assets by trading 1-2 of them, and get Tavares a winger.

Are the Isles still over the cap floor?

Not at all. Bringing in a d-man with years left on his contract might have had that effect, but it's not the case for Wisniewski.

If he's effective, he's going to be a candidate to be re-signed but his presence has little influence on Markov's case.

hes not our best dman but ****. its good asset management considering that they turned a 3rd into a 2nd and conditional 5th but this blows as a hockey move. i wanted to see wisniewski signed on for a few years
