Build that rink soon Nordiques fans, then back the bus up to the Islanders dressing room and presto you have a team again.

What does this have to do with Murray? Seems like you're always anticipating the chance to bash him.

Not to mention it ignores entirely the rationale for Murray dumping Wis's contract.

Life is so simple in a "A > B!" world, bereft of context.

The deal made in the summer has NOTHING in common with the current one. Different circumstances, different trading partners at different junctures of the season (and with different agendas).

An ounce of critical thought goes a long way.

i like the deal simply because with subban- when martin get's his head out of his ass and plays him - and wiz + gorges and the three old men, actually makes our D quite effective

goodbye picard...spacek you're next

It doesn't matter. The Oilers are going to end up 5th from the bottom and win the lotto to move up 4 spots. Just sayin'.

That doesn't save Wang any cash though, which we all know is actually the real reason behind this deal.

I'm thinking this was all pre-arranged. basically, as long as the Isles were second worst, they could have Rolston any time they wanted him. with Zharkov showing up yesterday, Rolston being re-entered and Wiz being traded today, Lou probably got the green light from Snow yesterday.

Shouldn't the Islanders have to at least pretend to ice a competitive team?

Shows the difference between a competent GM and a GM that should be unemployed

The NHL almost shouldn't let that happen, Wang and snow have no clue what their doing. The isles just got bent over and I bet you they probably proposed the trade.

im looking at it like this

wiz was horrible defensivly and used strictly as a pp quaterback, with okposo coming back soon and macdonald and hamonic getting more and more PP time theres no need for Wizniewski

i just wish that the isles couldve got a prospect in return

I'm just amazed they found a way to pick up Brian Rolston *and* cut costs. then they probably can buy out the last year of his deal and have a phantom cap hit for a couple of seasons.
