There are 6 club seats on stubhub right now for $17 each that's an 83% discount over face.

Where did I, or anyone else, say that it is right? What is wrong, as judged by the law, is assault. Beating someone who did no harm to you or others, or did not threaten to do harm to anyone is wrong. It's a hockey game and a tradition. The rink should throw out the fan and there are laws that can be applied AFAIK. It is a hockey game, and we are all hockey fans.

Your "tradition" needs to stay at home. It's an insult to our fanbase and has no place in opposing teams arenas. Even the Rangers, Flyers, and Preds.

If your fans attempt to do it in our arena, they deserve what they get short of physical injuries. Personally I wouldn't mind see the Wings law, which would be a nice $500 fine and a nice overnight stay in one of Frankin Counties nicer accommodations for repeat offenders. It's a rather pointless law, but I wouldn't mind getting rid of anything hitting the ice outside of hats.
If you threw trash on the Wings' ice, you would be escorted from the stadium and likely fined. I won't comment on the slight against Detroit- I would expect CBJ fans, with all they have endured, to be more sympathetic.

There are likely state and local laws that could be applied to a fan throwing objects onto the ice at Nationwide. Likely it would be a fine- jail time, unless the citizen is overly intoxicated, would be over-reaching.

I believe this is also illegal.

We should stop hijacking this thread- if anyone wants to continue this discussion with my feel free to PM me (or start another thread). I post here because I live closer to Nationwide than most posters, I go to many games, and I spend a lot of time in the area around the arena. Living in Columbus, I also want the Jackets to improve (not at the expense of the Wings of course) and gain the relevance needed to stay in the city. I am surprised to see so many defenders of assault, but I will accept that there is a vocal minority in every fan-base that gives the fans a negative reputation.

No kidding we would be fined. I see no distinction, that's why I exercised hyperbole. I have no intent of throwing crap on your ice, tell your other fans to show the same respect. Don't play the tradition card as some justification.

What all have we endured that would make us sympathetic? I'm missing why the sympathy card is being played. I have no sympathy for Detroit fan that has a Jackets fan attempt to stop him/her from throwing stuff on our ice. I do have an issue with intentional harm.

Personal responsibility suggests that if you want to engage in activity that is offensive to fans at a sporting event you may provoke the home fans in doing something stupid. I'm not saying it's right, I'm saying the idiot hurling something on the ice has a reasonable expectation that there is someone there that could take offense and defend the honor of the arena. Especially if beer is involved.

I wouldn't throw crap on your ice because it wouldn't be out of the question that someone would give me the beat down. I'd rather leave without bruises or worse. To be honest if I did throw stuff I'd probably deserve a couple of bruises.

Now if I got a beat down for throwing a hat on the ice for a Nash hat trick in Detroit, that's a different story.

IMO club seat are much better then lower bowl. I still prefer to sit in the upper bowl but the club seat are high enough to see the whole play on the ice.

hey hey, I'm coming to Columbus on November 12 and staying just for the night.. The Blue Jackets are playing the Jets.. I will gladly be rooting for the Blue Jackets.

Is anyone willing to part with their tickets for that game? I was checking on craigslist but it seems that everyone there is a dealer. Plus, I'd rather help out a fellow HF'er

Also, any recs on where to stay and where to eat and what to see during this time of the year?

We may have to get rid of ours. Oddly enough, I'll be in Denver, so we're going to the Avs/Flames game that night. PM me. I may not have a solid decision for a little while though.

Ours are 207 row B. the guy in front of me who yells "Point! Point!" during powerplays is free of charge

EDIT: also, what is the best place near Nationwide for parking?

Change of plans. I was helping out a friend on Monday and I think his daughter gave me her cold. I'm too sick to go to the game so I'm sending my father and brother

Hoping they have a good time and I'll be able to catch some stream online with the radio guys commentary in the background.

Sorry to ruin your night IBleedUnionBlue, I know that I would've been the highlight.

There are a number of hotels near Nationwide downtown. It's cheaper to stay in the burbs', but it's not as convenient. I would suggest going to either the Short North (high street just north of the arena) or German Village before the game (a bit further south on high street). Going to R-Bar before/after the game is also very fun.

I mentioned in this thread a few weeks ago that I was looking for a job in Columbus. Well I accepted another position up here in Cleveland, but a big thanks to all who helped me in my job hunt.

I enjoyed meeting your Dad & brother. Your Dad should be nominated as the official president of the Czech Republic born Blue Jackets fan club.

And those were some great seats. 1st time ever in club.

Haha yeah. He married a Czech girl so that doesn't hurt. He's always been a big fan of the Czechs even before Columbus had a team and I don't think that is going to change anytime soon. I can only imagine how excited he was when Martinek scored. Wish I could have seen those seats, but my dad was very impressed with them so I'll just have to keep an eye on stubhub to see if more pop up.

Couple of quick ticket questions:

- Is there an online code for the Pepsi can deal or is it in person at the box office only?

- Has anyone else had trouble with StubHub? I got sold bogus tickets for the Avs game and had similar problems with another event earlier in the year. These were my first problems with them. Is this a common problem or am I just extremely unlucky?

I've only used StubHub twice with no problem. What is your recourse, do you dispute the charge to your credit card company?

Keep in mind, stubhub is basically a better version of eBay. You aren't buying anything directly from stubhub at all. That said, they do have a guarantee. Contact their support.
