So our guild, after having run into personnel trouble and never could get back into raiding at the end of Wrath, got together last night for a shot at the Lich King(for old times sake) and we rolled ICC so hard, we were getting achievements we didn't even know about.
Lich King still requires you, despite having 150-200k HP to follow the mechanics. It's weird that our best handling of defile occurred in a faceroll. We always had so much trouble keeping people from running in it or getting it out of the group. Last night was a dream. Perfection. Someone had defile, they moved away and nobody ran in it.
We lost one person to Valkyr, but it was one of the dreaded "defile on so and so, Valkyr picked up so and so" simultaneous events.
Cool to finally see that battle to its finish even if it was easy mode.
The wife and I unlocked the Vampire race in EQ2 tonight. Pretty friggin cool.
Are you guys playing EQ2X or the sub-based EQ2? I just started playing LOTRO as a F2P and I'm loving it. The good thing about F2P is that you pay only for what you need to unlock, so if you play more you pay more, you play less you pay less. It's the perfect system for me. I wish WoW had a F2P system as well.
$60 for ~5-7 days for CoD. And many games are far less time played that I have.
$350-400 for over 50 days played.
Sub-based MMOs are perfect for those who play a lot, but for the casual gamer it's a rip off. That's why I said it's the perfect system for me. Plus, most F2P MMOs have a subscription plan as well.
This seems to be your problem....why are you thinking of AOE'n when there is only 2 targets....AOE is rarely the best choice to kill mobs ~your level and is really only used to kill trash in raids/instances. (outside a few notable exceptions)
Speaking of which, the first time I tried to beat the Scorpion-Lord boss with my priest the screen went all red
I thought it was part of the boss but then I was told Deathwing was flying around Uldum
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
You just stood in the fire.
Deathwing randomly targets a zone at a random time and BURNS THAT ****ER DOWN. Every player, NPC, and mob get smoked, and everything catches fire for a short period of time.
I'm jealous, I still haven't seen it or got the achievement

Died 4 times to it and i haven't been playing for 2 weeks lol
First time was pre-cata on the 25th of november
Twice in Twilight Highlands during the big rush of the xpac when i was farming ores like crazy
So we started BWD tonight, and all told it wasn't a bad night. Downed Magmaw after two attempts, and downed Omnitron after 4 or 5. We tried Maloriak once just to get a feel for it and then stopped for the night. All of the fights take a little getting used to, but none of them seemed particularly hard. Anyway, looking forward to seeing the rest of it in the near future.
I like playing mages and all other cloth wearers, so I know all about it. Actually, killing a boss plus minions isn't very hard at that level, you just have to be resourceful since you have low defense and are really open to physical attacks.
If you are level 10 then I guess you picked your specialization. It sounds like you went for frost mage, which is pretty cool and one of my favourites even though I don't pvp and it is mostly for that.
Open up with a frostbolt on every single enemy (use tab to cycle cleanly) this will reduce their speed and give you some time, then just keep layering them on (or use firebolt) and running farther away in between cycles. So you slow them all down, run, and repeat.
If you don't have any AOE attacks right now then this is your best bet. You can also just camp out in an area with mid level enemies and gain a level or 2 to open up more abilities and attacks, and also make the boss fights a lot easier.
I'm sure there is better advice, but that's mostly what I do since I try and solo practically everything being the stubborn person I am, and have to rely on cheap tactics to down stronger mobs.
So my guild is halfway done with BWD, so we decided to start BoT yesterday. Halfus is a joke. Even with a bad trio of drakes that fight isn't really that much harder than some of the heroic bosses =P.
Also, maelstrom crystals are so expensive =(. I have about 10k gold from enchanting since I hit 85, and for a time I was considering buying enough crystals to buy one or two of the last three enchants I don't have, but with the recent changes their prices have skyrocketed once again. We get like one or two crystals each raid, but even at that rate 15 is going to take a fairly long time, and then you need more to actually do the enchants themselves.
So lastnight I got a cloth epic world drop while leveling my paladin in twilight highlands I put it up on the ah at 30k and it sold in about an hour Im happy but at the same time I probably could have gotten more I didnt expect it to go that fast or for that much.

Whatever item it was, you can go on thottbot or those places and they have suggested AH prices.
Also, I hit 85 and finished the Twilight Quest line for the hell of it afterwards. The fight at the end was crazy.
At least with 30K you'll never have to make gold again.
You'd be surprised how quickly that can go. When Cata first came out, I had 15k. I spent 12k of that to level my LW early. Made over 30k from selling the pvp gear and epic enchants before most others had it.
Back down to 9k these days. Flasks alone for a raid night are 500-600g. Potions raise that even more.
At least gems seem to be reasonably priced these days.
Leveled to 85 pretty fast, farmed ores for a while like 2 weeks straight, made 150k
im down to 27k
Good thing im not playing much lately, i wouldn't have a dime left
Just on my main hunter i spent for 400k in TCG stuff, some guy from my guild don't mind spending IRL cash for in game gold, it's like buying gold except legally lol
I'm at level 58 now so I bought the Burning Crusade. Does this expansion actually change anything? Where do I go now? I am a human, and it seems like I've run out of quests to do in the Blasted Lands, and there doesn't seem to be anything left to do. Do I go into the portal now?
