* If the player is sent to the minor leagues, his cap hit is reduced by $100,000.

[Buyout Clause]
* For players 26 or older, a buyout costs two-thirds of remaining contract value.
* On a buyout, the team takes a cap hit for a percentage of the buyout value (according to a very complex formula) spread over twice the length of the remaining contract years.

Where does it say that the 35+ clause supersedes the Buyout Clause?

And wasn't Rolston sent to the minors? Isn't he on a 35+ contract also?
I think the bolded part says it all "every year of the contract"

I'm not 100% sure but I remember something being reported with Rod Brind'Amour and the Canes, that they thought of buying him out, it wouldn't have any affect on their cap but they would have saved on real salary. It is a weird and confusing situation though.

I was wondering if this was true...

Picard >> Carle

Aren't Picard, Carle and Weber all from the same mold? If so no need to keep them all, no?

If this thread doesn't include the names Drew, or Doughty, I'm no longer interested.

Hunwick for Bournival. PMD with some physical presence.

That is harsh; he has (mainly offensive) holes in his game but he's a more or less a fairly reliable defensive dman...at least with Colorado.

I wonder what kind of drug it would take for kings management to think that it would be a good idea to let him walk.
