Ty Anderson:Has Tomas Kaberle Become Boston's Only Option?

Anderson: ''no way that a deal gets done that ends with Kaberle shipping (down) to Boston without the Leafs' 2011 first rounder heading back to Brian Burke and company'',

''it'll be more than interesting to see if the usually-reserved Chiarelli goes all-in for the famed puck-mover in hopes of a jackpot parade in the streets of Boston come June''

There's no way Boston trades Leafs first for Kaberle.

No way in hell Boston gives that #1 back to the Leafs with the season they are having.

Bieksa is also a possibility for Boston. Wheeler plus draft pick perhaps.

I've never even heard of Ty Anderson, and I follow just about all the Bruins bloggers, etc, on Twitter. He looks like he's in High School.

Leaf fans, I know it goes without saying, but I'd contain your excitement about this "rumor." It's completely baseless and speculative, and there is absolutely no way Chiarelli would trade a potential lottery pick for a rental version of Kaberle.

Why hate Boston when it was Burke that made the deal in the first place?

So...you hate Boston because Burke made a bad trade with them? Makes perfect sense...

If Boston were to give the Leafs back their 1st for Kaberle +, Leafs Nation would rejoice. Boston fans would complain, although adding Kaberle + (possibly MacArthur) to their line-up without losing any pieces, turns them into a puck-contender.

This is a pipe dream as a Leaf fan, but it is certainly a possibility if Chia think his team is one or two pieces away from the Cup.

With the leaf's luck we will trade Kaberle for pur pick back and then go on a hot streak in March resulting in a 9th place finish.

Maybe Peter C. is just a nice guy and will throw Burkie a bone for all he's done for the Boston organization?

My motto is if a move can help you win a cup you do it.

But that is a tough one. A lottery pick for Kaberle?

I would think that trading that pick would be low on the option list for Boston?

Reason: almost all trades with Boston ends up with the Leafs getting bend over and ***** with a rusty kitchen knife, one way or the other.

A lot of much better deadline UFAs have been dealt that haven't come close to yielding a lottery pick. Not in a million years.

But our D core would then be:
Phaneuf -- Beachemin
Gunarsson -- Schenn
Lebda / Aulie -- Komisarek

Defensive offence becomes nothing, and we have maybe 1 or 2 D who can move the puck

If they Leafs can get their first back then they should take the deal. However, Boston shouldn't because it could potentially become a pick that lands that Larsson(who will be better than Kaberle).

There's as much better chance of Katy Perry knocking on my door and confessing her undying love for me than there is the Leafs getting their 1st back.

Boston's first rounder is likely the most they'll give up. Even then...

Knowing Burke he'll trade Kaberle to a team for a 1st round pick then that team will trade him to Boston for Toronto's first. Burke will still lose in the end

ok then draft Larsson either option would be fine with me, wither way we would start building with a core of Kessel, Kadri, Schenn, Kulemin, Gustavsson, and Larsson/Landeskog, with young guys like Phaneuf, Aulie, Versteeg who may or may not be part of the future with this team.

Boston can keep the pick, send over Colborne and call it a day. This guarantees Boston another lottery in my opinion with Toronto losing Kaberle and also gives Boston one hell of a deep blue line for the cup push.
