Finally, Martin gets it!!! (tonight, at least)

Subban and Weber playing, Pyatt and Picard sitting.
Giving Subban some playing time and hopefully confidence can only be good.
Weber instead of Picard makes lots of sense. The former has morre upside than Picard, is a little younger, and, with time, can be a better 6-7 dman than Picard.

Nice to see there will be three hard shots coming from the point tonight, and all are under 26, not over 36 like Spacek and Hamrlik.

I think Picard's benching was long overdue. I'm not saying they should dump him completely, but he's been terrible the last month, let him sit a few games and then put him back in and maybe send Weber to Hamilton.

The only missing element from the Hab arsenal now is a top 6 power forward...Iginla!

Getting Iginla to me would be the completion of the top 6. It would cost a lot in trade, but it would give us probably the two top lines in the east along with teams like Washington and Pittsburgh. Cammalleri and Iginla have experience and chemistry together and Plekanec would make that combo that much better.

Calgary is going to want some young players, established players and picks...who do they ask for, Patches, Eller, Kostitsyn, Weber, White, 1st rounder???

This is the missing piece, it would be like in 92-93 when the Habs went and got Bellow to compliment Muller, Lebeau, Savard and Damphousse.

Ah to dream.

No no no!!!! Keep Weber up and let him develop with the Habs. He has nothing more to prove in the AHL. Send Picard down, get rid of turnover Spacek and molasses Gill, but let the youngster play. He will be a very good depth dman and definitely better than the other three players. His upside may be a lesser Streit. After seeing him in junior hockey and the AHL, he can develop in a solid player, but needs time. If he plays this year with the team, you will see a much better player next season. Unfortunately he may be sent down or traded as the organization is known for impatience with its youngsters.

Picard's play has went downhill of late, no doubt. The only player he has an argument to play over (performance wise) is Subban, but Subban is a huge part of the future.
Far from baiting. I know you're one of the few here who really like Picard and would like your thoughts on his scratch.

I'm actually surprised that you mentioned pyatt scratched and not Picard.

I wasn't trying to start a spirited debate on anything. Just a little tease.

No need to get defensive....

Well he didn't have much choice, Picard turned over the puck so much against the Caps it was hard to watch. I'm sure he could use the break as well, hope the D core does well and Wiz can nail a Tampa forward or two

Can't wait to see the Wiz tonight. He looked so excited in that little interview today, and he seems like a good lockeroom guy. Plus, I can't wait to see Stamkos streak through the middle, only to run right into Wiz's shoulder.

4-2 Habs.

For sure we need him in the lineup, but I can't wait to see what the guys do tonight without Picard in the lineup and Wiz in. I think we will be alright until Gorges gets back healthy

It's time for the Habs to finally extract their heads from their buttholes.. Just stop taking dumb penalties, score some goals and win this game and the next.. Tall order I know but stranger things have happened..

Wow, a lineup I do not hate. I am about weary of this constant and relentless play of Price though. The kid is going to be dead by the time the playoffs roll around.
