I'm one of the few that doesn't mind Crusher and I hope he gets better soon.
That said we've had several occasions this season where a clear cut opportunity for one of the kids opens up to give them a real chance to make their statement and make it really difficult to send them down.

My philosophy on losing shootout specialists is that you may just end up replacing him with a guy that actually helps you win the game in regulation.
LOL, nice. Let's hope so.
Guy is maddening. You see those flashes of brilliance. He gets his time on the top line. He'll be given his PP time. And he'll pull some sick move or let go of a wicked wrister.
Too bad for Christensen, but, I can't say that this will have that negative an effect on this team...they're making due without Callahan...the majority of the time Christensen is invisible anyway. At least now, Tortorella will have to keep Stepan getting top six minutes, and not have the supposed Christensen-Gaborik chemistry as a crutch to rely on.
Hope this means MZA gets more time with the team. He seems to up the creativity level with this team. I like that he is looking for the give and go and those short first passes that lead to open ice.
So he is out for the foreseeable future, Drury should go back to center.
In an emergency situation Newbury could potentially be a callup as well.
a 7 million , 4th line C, jeebus. I was kinda liking Drury on the wing and taking faceoofs..........This is an interesting one for next yr as well cause if they sign say Richards and have Anisimov, Stepan, Boyle who the heck is on the 4th line?
seems to me they need to move Boyle to LW full time next yr and pick up a checking C ala Betts. Wish they had one in the minors but Weise is a winger
While we continue to roll 4 I dont care as long as Dru is playing 10+ minutes with his PK and PP time. It does create a bit of a logjam long term but for now it is fine.
Tough loss.....Erik provides a lot of versatility and usually comes up big once every 5 games or so on the score sheet and let's not forget his abilities in the shootout
Agree. A bigger loss than most people would think. Makes an excellent option on the PP. Can put him on the first line with Gaborik if things get stagnant. Has the ability to put up a great game and is far and away our best shoot out performer.
However, just because he doesn't have 30-points yet this season fans will act as if his absence won't matter.
