Chris Mueller will be wearing No. 53 for the Predators.

Due to the fact that he has not practiced with the team yet you know he'll be on the 4th line tonight and have to earn ice time through his performance, but I don't think that will be a problem for him. Mueller has made his mark as a jack of all trades and earned his way up the Milwaukee lineup the past two seasons.

Really keeping my fingers crossed that Legwand returns tonight so that Belak is a healthy scratch...really keeping my fingers crossed!

Legwand and Erat were both gunning for returns on Tuesday. Sullivan was listed as questionable on the last team report over at Yahoo!, but I have no idea if that has been updated.

I don't expect us to win this game. We might get lucky and catch Dallas while they're off balance, but I just can't see us beating them when we've scored three goals in the last four games.

According to today's Tennrag, both Sully and Erat are on the IR, and Legwand has gone from "probable" to "possible" for tonight's game.

Nnnnnnnooooooooo!!!

Well, I guess the decision now is whether to dress Sulzer and go with 11 F's, 7 D or dress Belak and go with 11.25 F's and 6 D?

My guess is that Belak stays in the lineup to "keep Brych and others honest"...

I thought about that. What's the point of dressing Belak when he's not going to get any shifts anyway? Trotz will play him probably 3 or 4 shifts in the 1st, then 2 or 3 in the 2nd, and none in the 3rd at max (assuming the game isn't out of hand by that point). If there was a scenario were any of the 6 regular D is even slightly injured then Sulzer could spot somebody during the game to save them a little wear and tear. Also, if the seventh Dman on this team was more of a offensive threat (say Franny was the 7th Dman for example instead of Sulzer) then for sure I would dress 7 D, but since Sulzer isn't going to bring much offensively, I'm not sure what the advantages are of dressing 7 D....other than keeping Belak in street clothes.

Suter, Weber, Wilson, Hornqvist, Goc, Kostitsyn and O'Reilly all could be potting more goals then they have recently. Yeah we're thin, real thin, but they should've scratched out a point or two in four games. Come on Willy. You're a cocky guy. Back it up tonight.

Come on Trotz, put Wilson, Hornqvist, and Kostysyn with someone other than Ward, Spaling, or Smithson. Such as O'Reilly and Goc? Klasen?

Surprise me Meuller...

Dumont - O'Reilly - Hornqvist
Klasen - Goc - Kostitsyn
Belak - Smithson - Ward
Wilson - Spaling - Mueller

Those appear to be the lines after Trotz tells Cooper in his latest blog that Mueller will play with Spaling and Wilson tonight...

I can see Trotz using the Spaling line more frequently than the Smithson line if they can play responsibily in the D zone...

Ward and Smithson together. Yay. I approve.

Hmm, I am ok with the idea of that Spaling line, as long as that doesn't mean Wilson ends up with ten minutes of ice. Can't see how though, they'll have to play. Sort of a possession line but with the ability to pounce on a puck if given half a chance. More so than a possession line with Ward on it. Wilson had better look to shoot.

Goc-Kostitsyn-Klasen should have some quickness and skill. That's a "must have" a goal line.

1.) With these lines, obviously Dumont has found the goat pictures that Fiddler left behind.
2.) Wilson gets kind of screwed--again.
3.) Want to bet on your Smithson vs. Spaling line TOI
4.) I didn't want to quote Cooper's piece about Mueller....it was too disturbing. But since you brought it up, it says the Preds considered Kelsey Wilson, but decided on Mueller "at least for this game"

Mueller better kill it tonight or else.

Thoughts...

Dumont-O'Reilly-Hornqvist

Not a great combination since neither Dumont or O'Reilly are going to put the puck on net enough to take advantage of the hard work that Hornqvist will put in. Certainly has the potential to put points on the scorecard, just not likely. Defensively? Meh.

Klasen-Goc-Kostitsyn

Easily the best scoring line on paper and appeared to be the most dangerous line against St. Louis. Would be interesting to see the big-bodied Wilson centering two guys that know how to take advantage of the guys on the ice with them.

Belak-Smithson-Ward

Seth continues to be haunted by visions of Wade Belak on the ice. On the bright side, he'll only haunt Seth for about 5 minutes. On the downside, the lines will be a mess to account for all the double-shifting that will occur.

Wilson-Spaling-Meuller

Hold-your-breath line with the completely new Meuller (to Nashville). Likely not a threat to score, but probably a good defensive line if the communication is in place with the trio.

Didnt we draft Wilson to help our scoring? I dont get why Trotz keeps putting him with players who dont have much offensive upside

It's more a reluctance to put Wilson back at center than anything else. That said, I'd much rather see Wilson-O'Reilly-Hornqvist than a Dumont-O'Reilly-Hornqvist. That'd be a pretty good line.

Dumont-Spaling-Meuller might be too bad defensively for Trotz to stomach though.

Their goalie looks like the spawn of Mike Modano and Rich Nash.

When Kostitsyn and Wilson play together they get dangerous chances and have scored some goals. I also would have liked to see him with Klasen. Even though he's not the fastest or best skater, I think Wilson is looking like he'll be a good center.

Right now, Kostitsyn is playing far-and-away the best game among the Nashville forwards. He makes most all of his line mates better.

His line hasn't scored primarily due to the fact that his line is the only threat iced by Nashville right now.

Just about any NHL team can shutdown one line of the opposition, even if it had a superstar forward, on most nights if it desired so. And if there's only one line to shut down?

What's that old David Lee Roth album again... Eat 'em and Smile. That's likely what Nashville's opponents think right now.

My thoughts exactly. He must be trying to divide the offense evenly and try and get some other guys going who wouldn't normally be producing. That being said, I don't think our offense could be stretched out any more than it is. Yikes. Show me... Wilson - O'reilly - Horns and Klasen - Goc - Kostitsyn, atleast have two lines dedicated to offense. There's just not enough talent to roll 3-4 lines, especially with injuries.

That being said, Raycroft is in tonight from what I hear and hasn't played in few games. I'm hoping he's cold.
