Ya but its the 4th and 1st line that has been winning us games. The Bourque line has looked like crap, especially Bourque, don't know whats wrong with him. Even the 2nd line has been pretty bad.

Could someone explain that Khabibulin penalty, I missed it and I was wondering what happened?

Ok, who the hell is this Jokinen fellow and where the hell have you been the last 2 years? We are finally starting to have something that looks like it resembles a complete top line. Good for Olli, hopefully he can keep it up. He will have to for this team to even have a sniff at the playoffs.

Now if Stajan and Bourque could get going then we might have something here.

Once again the 2nd and 3rd line have been invisible. Hagman, Stajan, Bourque, Morrison, Glencross, Kotalik should all be candidates to sit a couple of games.

decent win. a bit of a weak 3rd though. should have kept the pedal down instead of backing off and clogging up the neutral zone and the old dump in. 2nd and 3rd lines were invisible which is dissapointing because that should be a strength night in and night out in terms of how they match up against other teams, especially the oilers, 2nd and 3rd lines. hagman or kotalik should sit next game. stajan was brutal but i think its someone elses turn to sit next game. even if they're winning. your not gonna beat vancouver when your 2/3 lines play like that.

Feaster mentions our core and long term plans in the same sentence.

Because this lineup has been winning games and you don't fix what isn't broken.

Tell me why Backlund should stay, that's the real question. Hasn't contributed much offensively this year and found himself out of the lineup when the team started winning, and you can't have him sit up and here and not play. Let him play down there until there's an injury or until someone else starts sucking it up (I give it a month).

I thought it was a good game, a disappointing lack of finish despite dominating the Oilers for the first two periods but they came through. No matter what anyone believes, 5 points behind with 2 games in hand is potentially overcomeable in the second half.

I wonder what some people here think about Hrudey's comments in the intermission (first, I think), where he stated that the main reason the Flames were having problems wasn't bad moves or a lack of talent but the pressure from the GM's office. I thought PJ Stock was out to lunch with his Iginla being the problem comment.

Sad but true. I hope he does well on the Heat and will begin to produce more points when he comes back to the NHL.

From what Feaster said on After Hours, backlund will play in Abbotsford for this week.
Then he will probably join the Flames for their road trip the following week.
Basically they want him playing as many games as he can instead of sitting in the pressbox.

True but keep in mind that 3 of the other 5 teams the Flames need to leapfrog to get into 8th place have 2 games in hand on them, 1 has 1 game in hand and the last has a 4 point lead with same number of games played.

I totally agree with Hrudey, I thought D. Sutter was a major part of this teams problems. Even though Tangs and Jokinen said they liked him, there just appeared to be something very negative surrounding Sutter. You could see it in his face. All GM's and coaches have a life span (unless your Ken Holland), and it was Sutter's time to go. I'm actually quite interested to see how the team does in their next stretch of games. And it was interesting to hear Feaster say he wants the music cranked in the dressing room, it was obvious that there was a cloud that hangs over this team. Feaster is now trying to change the culture of this team.

for once I think we are on the same page... let's be honest other than the Kotalik and Staios deals none of the deals Sutter made were not that bad (including the Dion deal IMO)... and those latter 2 deals certainly are not enough to destroy a team... something happened in December of last year with this club... they were looking like a fantastic team and just came crashing down
