Couldn't hurt....For all the talk of rushing prospects, he sure as hell wasn't. LOL....Maybe he'll stick this time. I don't expect a ton of 2 goal games, but we'll see.
while not much is asked of him and he's far from a key reason why the team sucks - Sim, himself, sucks.
So replacing him with a 1game wonder isn't really any loss.
Sim has had four good games (that's generous) since he's been an Islander.
I think everyone's tired of him, including myself.
Sim represents the "non-moves" that somehow plagues this team that's desperate for real NHL talent, even if JUST to get to the cap floor.
Sim for Collition is really meaningless...but I'd prefer seeing Colliton out there.
I always liked Colliton, back to the WJC days when he was hurt. He's a big body who's come a long way since being drafted. Always liked what he could have brought to the team, a strong defensive forward with size, maybe one day a reliable 4th line center (I don't think Konopka's that player - maybe Colliton may be one day, maybe not)
Colliton's just 25 and for the role he'd be asked to play on this team, I'd expect as much from him as many fans expect of most of the AHL cast-off/waiver roster.
I'm way more confident that Colliton can be a good 4th liner than I am that:
Parenteau is a viable 1st line winger
Schremp is the best option for #2 C
Grabner is a top six forward
Gervais/Hillen will one day be the next Rafalski
yeah. it was discussed here on the boards when he was signed in the off-season. I just checked the soundtigers website - he's still listed on the roster. maybe some of the posters who follow the soundtigers can confirm.
i hate how if you play NHL 11 online and you pick the islanders, sim is starting on the 2nd line. I played it a few times the past week and i always swap joensuu in there and throw him on the 4th, where he belongs if he's lucky
