At this stage, it becomes an issue with how much disgust Laviolette has for Zherdev. The quote he issued in the last two days about "you guys figure it out" speaks volumes. Sending a message isn't the singular issue anymore. Fred Shero scratched Reggie Leach more than once, so in that regard, anything is possible.
This. It's getting a little akward now. I think Z needs to be traded. Before something really goes off. I seriously can't understand why lavy is so pissed with him. Z has been playing very well of late.
As much as it pains me to say this, shelley is a better option than carcillo right now. Carcillo has brought nothing to the table recently. I dont know if he is still hurt or what. I think he is as his game from last year to this year is like night and day. His play has been lackluster to say the least. Maybe when he was shopped a while back there really was no interest.
-Since Leighton is playing I don't expect to win. Not unless Detroit comes out atrocious offensively with Datsyuk out. You obviously have to give Leighton a chance, but honestly, the sooner we can waive his as the better. It would fix this mess of a goalie situation somewhat at least. Three goalie rotations aren't natural.

-I'm looking forward to seeing Gustafsson play, if he ever does. I have high hopes for him and he's probably my favorite non-goalie prospect.
-Similar to why I can't figure out how Shelley keeps getting dressed, I can't figure out why Laviolette hates Zherdev so much. The guy can't be relied upon as a primary threat or to handle a large work-load, sure, but that's the point of this roster. The forward group is so deep and our GM is so intent on three scoring lines that Zherdev fits into the lineup perfectly. If we dump Zherdev then who gets put on to one of the scoring lines? Carcillo? Powe? Come on.
We're missing Pronger, but the Wings are missing Datsyuk so I think it should even out, at the very least. No excuses here.
But apparently at the Winter Classics there were two sections filled with both Caps and Pens fans who all looked at each other and started chanting "Flyers Suck" lool pretty funny
