We had Schneider, we let him go.
We had MAB, we let him go.

Now we have Wiz, will he be next on the list to go? Or will the Habs actually SIGN the guy that is HELPING our PP SUCCEED.

Or we can go back to trying Spacek as the point guy to shoot. Again...
Agreed.

Although the only guy in there that realistically should have been kept was Streit.

Wiz can actually play 20+ minutes and not look completely out of place, if he can put up 40+ points a year then I really hope we retain him.

What bothers me most about this....well with the first two anyways, is we let them go for nothing, nada, zilch. Souray in that 28 goal season would have been a great trading chip.

I don't think Gauthier's as dumb as Gainey.

Agreed.....Weber gives Montreal three solid puck movers from the back end.

Subban
Wiz
Weber

Once Markov returns next Montreal has a solid puck moving team for the transition game!
If Montreal can compliment those four with two hard nosed D to keep the opposition honest......

I agree, he doesn't have the strength to battle with opposing teams forwards (exception taking Byfuglien out of the play). But his positional play is solid, I haven't seen very many mistakes from him.

Spacek's act is getting real old.

Wisniewski is waaaay better than I thought. Probably won't keep playing this, but for a 2nd. Great Pick-up. Not to mention he has been the best hab in the last couple games.

Yeah, makes no sense how we can never retain ONE of our point threats, but there ARE circumstances

Souray wanted more money from us
Streit was never going to get 4 million bucks from us, he was alrdy 31, had to take the money, its 20 million bones
Schneider was just a quick fix, a patch up, provided loads of help, but was at the end of his career
and Mab?...dont get me started on mab...

i think this time, Wiz will not be overlooked.

I really like what I'm seeing from the Pouliot/Desharnais/Darche line.

He's quite a bit overpraised by the rds guys ; I liked him as a no non-sense heart guy on the 4th line but Martin is killing me when he keeps putting him out there on the 1st wave of the pp.

A 3rd/4rth liner who can't kill penalties and bring zero toughness is a marginal very replacable player ; he plays too many minutes for what he can actually bring. He's ok at best.
