Now it's clear. Clouston is a perfect coach. It's all the players fault.

Per Ian Mendes twitter btw

It's true. He is trying everything, switching lines, etc. The guys just can't score worth a crap.

The interview was just on the radio. He said the team played hard and did everything right but just can't score.

Christ as if we all didnt realise this A glass starting goalie ,a couple of older banged up pieces in our top 6 one of which is just collecting a paycheque,a top center who wasnt injured was trying to win the selke instead of trying to play to his strength which was offense and some younger players that have been expected to carry the offense while our old top 6 does nothing

Has he tried implenting a system? You know like a real coach?

They have a system, they just can't score. As someone else said earlier, we have 3 4th lines on this team. We could have Babcock as our coach, and I don't think we would be that much better.

Agreed. This team, on pace for a record low in goals, everyone outside of EK having a down year, it's all the players. Give Clouston ANY other team and he wins 3 cups.....this year!

I'm glad he's letting the players know that he is perfect and that it's all on them too. It should help his cause with them....we know how well he is liked by the offensive players on the team (Heatley, Kovalev)

It's amazing that all these players just suddenly forgot how to score though.....must be some kind of anti goal ray developed by the Leafs.

Clouston is clearly out of ideas. I like the guy and think he's a decent enough coach but this is when you have to dump the coach: when he doesn't know what else to do.

It was working overtime against Atlanta the other night...and wasn't that supposed to be top secret?

So it's a coincedence every player on the team (besides EK) is struggling?

It's not surprising. Who do we have?

Old lazy Kovy? Inconsistent Fisher? These are 50 point players, 60 tops.

All the Sens have, and had last year too, are Spezza and Alfie. It's clear Alfie lost a major step this year and Spezza is injured. This just proves how key Spezza is to our offense. You think he's having an off season but all teams have to do is shut him down and our offense looks like what it is right now, utterly pathetic.

I honestly don't think Clouston's too bad. The current Sens are just a product of losing a #1 goalie, all star winger and #1 d-man in Redden, when he was here, for absolutely nothing while getting older and having absolutely nothing in the pipes to replace them until now.

Yup. We certainly don't boast a plethora of powerplay specialists. And boy things would be different if Clouston had Redden to work with.

What do you want him to do? He doesn't have a goalie, he has an overpaid, slow and underachieving blueline and he has injury prone/old/crappy players up front. The roster sucks. Is that the coach's fault?

I don't blame much on clouston. But the Powerplay is all on him.

Our top 10 PP might be the best thing we have this year.

Exactly, it has been our only chance of winning most nights.

We have too many secondary/tertiary scorers relying on each other to get the candle lit.

Stats kinda deflated when we are one of the teams with least pp opportunities.

I think you mean, 40 point players, 55 tops...

And we have a good PP (percentage wise)...we are just too slow, and not skilled enough to create PP chances.

The team just isn't that good.
I think to blame Clouston is a joke.
Paddock, Hartsburg, now Clouston, haha, when are people going to realize that it isn't the coaches, it's the players.

I agree the roster isn't very good but that's besides the point.

Clouston pretty much publicly admitted that he doesn't know what to do: he feels he's done all he can.
When that happens, the coach has to go because you can't have him saying that. When the coach doesn't know how to fix things he becomes useless.

And it isn't all on him. But you just can't have the coach talking like that.

I think Clouston is done, Murray is going to can him soon enough. He definitely doesn't deserve to be canned, but hey, that's the NHL.
