Larsson...maybe Lou thinks it would give him the opportunity to pick up some points. Those Larsson to Kovalchuk feeds don't happen to often, right now.
Landeskog in WJC, it's a one in a thousand, good luck and sweet dreams. ;-)

Lando and Larsson wont play in WJC. Next year Zibby will play in Ottawa and Brodin could push for a spot in Minnesota. Rakell and Klefbom likely to eligible again.

Daniel Gunnarsson looks interesting. + player with 1+3 points in 13 games. Big, mobile and a right handed shot.

Roger Rönnberg talks about the upcoming wjc.

Some interesting things: No camp this year, "took energy from the players", praises Forsberg and Collberg, been on a scouting trip in NA, there is a few "bubblare" from CHL who could make the team.

And the canadians must be dreaming of Nugent-Hopkins

Do we risk being too young and soft at forward? Also there are too many players not producing points yet. I think of the OHL-WHL bunch born 93 who is falling behind by about a point per game compared to league leaders, Rensfeldt born 92, Zibby, Forsberg, Collberg, Friberg etc.

Johan Larsson on the other hand, when did we have such a mature player in the SEL at his age?

And Gustafsson in goal, it feels like he's been here forever and is going to own shooters from the junior ranks around the world.

Team idea at forward:

Friberg - Larsson - Sundström
Rensfeldt - Rask - Zibanejad
Rakell - Karlsson - Åberg
Westin - Nordström - Persson
Forsberg

He should make it, for sure. Gotta have that RH shot.

Granberg and Daniel Mannberg were the two names added to the squad. Mannberg is the smallest player on the roster.

He's still on the roster but with eight defencemen going to Wasa, it remains to be seen how much he'll play.

Is it just me or will we probably have a better offensive than last couple of years?

We really need a checking-line!

What about...

Westin - Boyce - Thorell

maybe http://topnews.in/sports/files/Michael-Schumacher_5.jpg can take a spot.

Adam Pettersson is showing he wants a spot in JWC. 5 points in last two games in SEL-2. He leads his team in scoring and since he's playing for bottom team Sundsvall, it's quite good. It's not like he's riding on the wave of established senior linemates, getting easy points. Today he scored 2 goals including GWG penalty shot. Two days ago he logged 3 assists. Two quite surprising upsets on away ice against Malmö & Rögle, in which Pettersson was a key player.

Another strong young player developed at Skellefteå? Impressing.

Having Pettersson in Sundsvall is a waste of talent. A lot of people are saying he should be called back to Skellefteå but we just have too many ****ing forwards under contract.. And I guess Sundsvall would be even more doomed if we did.

He's been pretty good on the draws in his first couple games back in Sweden. I expect he could dominate at the WJC. A stud in the Leafs rookie tournament in early September, that level is higher than the WJC.

He'll be one of the bigger forwards in the tournament and one of the best skaters upfront as well. Coach Mac had to be convinced by management but it was best to send him back to Sweden, the night before he used Zibanejad at center in the dying minutes of a tie game and 2-3 shifts in the 5 minutes OT. If Ottawa needed a 3rd line C, they could have easily kept him.

Joakim Ryan 3+1 in 3 games for Cornell in the NCAA. Was invited to Lake Placid, could he make it?

Rönnberg might <3 Luleå, but if Mannberg can bring to the national team what he's brought to Luleå lately, he'll be a big asset.

Agree. I think John Westin should be a lock for the fourth line, 20 games played with Modo this year, 09:34 ATOI. A gritty and solid player.

Henrik Samuelsson, could he not also be a good energy player on the 4th line.

Westin - C - Samuelsson
