I don't remember Wilson in on that discussion because of the story about DM's wife and people coming in for Christmas or something like that. Could be, just don't remember it.

I take a nap because I stayed up for the Ohio State game & when I get up, this happens & Commie wants a trade. I'd say "Do what you have to" to GMSH, but I've got a bad feeling Wilson gets claimed.

As for the whole situation...

There's somethin' happenin' here...what it is, ain't exactly clear...

Both MacKenzie and Wilson were told to "get a place" per Puck-Rakers. I remember that specifically because I wondered what would happen when something had to give once everyone got healthy.

Safe to say if we've put Wilson on waivers he's probably not part of any trade at the NHL level.

We're either trying to save a few bucks or we need the roster spot for someone else. We could see someone else called up I suppose.

We seem to be approaching critical mass for a trade to occur. Which means most likely we're calling Sestito back up and everyone starts scratching their heads.

I found it earlier so what the hell:

http://blog.dispatch.com/cbj/2010/12...ush_back.shtml

Quote:
Wilson and C Derek MacKenzie have each been told by Blue Jackets management in recent days to "get a place." Those are the magic words for any hockey player, and in MacKenzie's case it's huge. He's 29 years old, so those words were a long-time coming. Plus, his wife Sarah is five months pregnant with their second child. "She's the first person I thought about when I got the news," MacKenzie said. "The first thing she did was go to Costco to shop for stuff that will last more than a day or two." More in Thursday's Dispatch.

My money's on Filatov. Sestito would have to clear waivers.

Marc-Andre Bergeron waiver claim, anyone? Just a thought. Defenseman signed for $1M, 10+ goals & 30+ points the last two seasons.

edit- Forgot about the injury history.

Why would Sestito have to clear waivers? We sent him down because he didn't have to clear waivers.

Seems quick on a return of Filatov, but it's certainly more likely then Sestito.

We have 2 overtime wins attributed to Wilson going 2 for 2 in shoot outs.
Can you name one other jacket who you could confidently state would have gone 2 for 2? Wilson had value and it was measurable.

Wanna waive someone? How about Clark? Or Moreau? I mean what do these 2 guys do for their money other than provide alleged "veteran leadership"? To be honest, Dorsett has done next to nothing for the past six weeks. But no, let's get rid of the guy who helped us in 2 consecutive shoot out wins.

And I would keep Murray 100 times over either Clark or Moreau.

(Talking on memory here. Waivers is a confusing process. Even hockey geniuses like Portzline get this stuff wrong).

That was merely so he didn't have to clear going down. Think of waiver eligibility as a cycle. If a player clears going up, they don't have to clear going back down, assuming they've played in 9 or less games or been with the big club for less then 30 days.

So Sestito would still have to clear if he's brought back up (barring Emergency recalls). One reason why I don't think we'll see him again until after the trade deadline.

Bringing Sestito back would certainly appease some here but do little to improve our odds of being 75% off on the playoff clearance table.

I understand that. I was asking what rule would prevent you from recalling the same guy, especially if we could use the excuse of an emergency recall with Ethan possibly hurt.

I could see the rule preventing you from recalling him this quick, but not forcing him through a form of re-entry.

The sending back down has nothing to do with him going through re-entry waivers, it was merely to avoid having him go through regular waivers.

Basically, the CBJ sent him down to only have to put him through waivers once instead of twice.

Anyone else remember this same thing (sort of) happening with GlenX? He was told to get a place and shortly thereafter was traded to Dick "Who's Your Daddy" Tarnstrom. Not saying the circumstances are the same, and I'm well aware that business is business, but I'm not sure I like this pattern of jerking players around.

Your missing the question. There was nothing in my second post about him going down on waivers, we're beyond that now.

What rule would force him to go through re-entry? Because he's like 800 years old or something? If that's the case, I'd certainly wouldn't have sent him down.

We would get back 2 players for Commodore? Did 2 players just die?

Fro, do you think we need a 5 milions defensman with achievments for maximum 2 millions? Sorry but I hope Rozsíval NEVER come here!!!
Next Del Zotto. We need not young defensmen we have them. And for example Moore or Savard, maybe Goloubef would play in Rangers.
What we need it is a speed, moving defensive defensman.

Wilson on waiver, Moreau injured IMO someone from Falcons come here. If yes I wonder who.

We need defensman with experiences not "greenhorn". If "greenhorn" from Rangers, only Dylan McIlrath but he is not solution for us now too.

Seems to me that getting youth of his abilities are rarely a bad thing. As poorly as the Rangers think he's played, he's already be an upgrade here.
