I just think his value is lower, I haven't given up on him. He's 20 years old.

I suppose the most of people here had balanced psyche in their 20 years. Any amplitude... nothing. at least according to posts.

Torg is talking about it on the Fan right now

says they are working the phones hard and want to make a deal, not really anything we didn't know, but still talking

Says Commie isn't good for the kids and that if they wait a while it may become a huge distraction

I'm listening to Common Man & The Torg and the Torg says GMSH is working the phones hard.

LOL Yeah.

I find it amusing that they are willing to go after DelZotto AND pay out the ass for it too.

Now, if you or I would be willing, and I am, to go after the kid, it is with the understanding that this is a long term prospect, without immediate reward. I think MDZ may indeed be some day a great investment but I believe the same about Filatov. Torts and Arniel seem to mirror coaching styles. The big difference maker here is the GM's. The Rangers have quietly went from being Broadway Blueshirts to Blue Collar Hockey while we were pretending.

Are you referring to me here?

Because if so, apparently I made the most unclear post of all time.

No. You're fine. LOL Someone earlier offered up way too much for him. It's just the undertone more than a specific post.

AND I'm glad you came back and clarified that you hadn't given up on Filatov. A lot here have. It's easy to understand. The kid came out in 9 games and lit the place up. Then threw a fit. Yada, yada, yada. Still, I was there on opening night and saw him. He hustled. He played his heart out and there were few that did. Blame it on the new system. Whatever. He stood out. His failure to live up to the Saving Grace of CBJ, I think, is more a symptom of what is wrong here than the actual disease itself. I just wish I wasn't one of the few who think that way.

lol, ok, I'm not worried about my communications skills anymore.

I agree with the rest of your post too. He's 20. Way too young to give up on a player, especially with his skill set. He's proven he can play at this level, he just needs to be grow in a variety of ways. I'm confident that he'll get there. Might take a little longer than expected, but he'll be fine.

I haven't given up on the kid, Coug. I'm pretty sure he'll click eventually, but I'm starting to doubt it will ever be in Columbus.
For this reason, alone, I have no problems packaging him for a player that helps us now.

I have long wondered if there were an anti- smilie that I could use to indicate when I'm being serious.

It's painfully obvious that we don't know how to raise our kids. Until we got Scott Arniel. I'm watching and waiting.

As for a package, I would only trade him to secure that final piece and we are no where near being ready to do that.

I'm thinking Guenin because I'm not sure Sestito would know if a trade happened before Porty.
