Just wondering, what did the lines look like for the Stars tonight? Any idea what effect Langenbrunner might have on them?

Eriksson - Richards - Neal
Morrow - Ribeiro - Benn
Ott - Burish - Wandell
Barch - Sutherby - Segal

I expect one of the bottom 3 to be a scratch next game, and Wandell to be moved down to play with them.

Neal - Richards - Eriksson
Morrow - Ribeiro - Benn/Langenbrunner
Ott - Burish - Langenbrunner/Benn
Wandell - Sutherby - Segal

Guilty as charged.

What can I say, maybe I want more than just a division title! lol

Baby steps, though, and a loss tonight negates any out-of-town score.

Gotta get back in the W column next game.

Our home stretch has become quite worrisome. Yes this was a SO loss and those are a crap shoot but we're 0-3-2 in our last 5 now. Winning 7 on the road is awesome but we can't fall behind in one area and excell in the other.

I booed so loud when Avery was first was on the ice, and laughed so hard when he got hit and stayed on the ice.

Tonight was so much louder than it has been for most of the past three seasons.

Only time it ever gets loud is during the playoffs.

That first St. Louis game was the quietest I've ever heard it. Though the come from behind win against San Jose in November was unbelievably loud (loudest by far the past two years at least...even comparable to Modano's standing O) for how many people were left at the end of it.

Story of tonight's game: Richards was awful. Nothing more to be said...from me at least.

O and lol at Avery getting slightly injured for half a second.

A lot of that can probably be attributed to Marc Staal and Dan Girardi playing 30 minutes tonight. Those two are a legit #1 D pair and have shut down the league's best this year very effectively.

Yeah... Richards looked gassed the entire game, though. Probably needs a couple nights off.

e: Or Crawford to get his head out of his posterior and keep him his minutes down.

May not have been his best effort, but he still had a couple special plays that (almost) no one else on the team can make. Bad break on the laser beam pass to Morrow for the tip in...

Pretty well offensively. Made good defensive plays, but has Trevor Daley syndrome in the corners.

Larsen also allows the PP to shift configurations on the fly and change into an umbrella thereby giving Richards the option of sneaking down low to receive a pass. None of the other D have the confidence or the skill to operate from the center of the ice without the safety valve of the boards.

Larsen still needs to go back to the AHL to eat some cheeseburgers. His defensive play, while showing the right instincts, needs a little refinement that will come with ice time in all situations. They are not clearly confident playing him in all situations at the NHL level yet. He's getting no PK time and is being hidden from top forwards more than they hide Niskanen. That's absolutely proper for this stage of his career.

On offense, I love his willingness to shoot, but he has Stephane Robidas-syndrome - 3 of every 4 attempts get blocked because he's still telegraphing when he's going to shoot off a pass and when he's looking to pass.

I look forward to him being a full-time NHLer next season when he's put on about 15 pounds and learned a little more.

Oh, and BTW, piqued, on the play you mention at the top of my page, Robidas was pointing out the guy coming down the slot that needed to be covered by a closing backchecker. He wanted to make sure whoever the backchecker was (and I don't know if it was his partner or a forward) didn't try to double-cover the guy he had at the net, which has been a problem for this team this season.

There was a nice ovation for Langenbrunner. If that could have gone on longer he would have started crying, as it looked as if he was starting to tear up.

Heh, I noticed some boos in the 1st and 3rd, but strangely none in the 2nd.

It looked only half full in the 1st, but then I noticed it had filled up nicely by the 3rd.

I actually barely noticed Avery on the ice. That may be why they wasn't an insane amount of booing.

Hey all, Rangers fan here. Coming in Peace.

Just wanted to say, I watched the Dallas feed last night, and your announcers were really fun to listen to. Pretty good hockey knowledge and a good handle on the game.

Of course, this was only one game I've watched with them announcing. Whats the consensus from the Stars fans? like them or leave them?

Good game guys. Definitely do not want to face you again. Take all the points from the rest of the Eastern Conference though!

Ralph and Razor are the best in the biz, highly underrated. Everybody here to my knowledge loves them and they aren't incredibly homer like other teams

It's safe to say I wouldn't watch half the amount of Stars games I do without Ralph and Razor. Best I've heard and it isn't even a contest.
