You're right.

I just figured it out.

Howson is trading Rick Nash for the Maple Leafs entire top 6!

We know it is probably unrealistic.

Maybe it isn't the roster spots, but the salary relief. I don't know if they make less, but I would have to think our players in Springfield make less than the guys we have waived, etc.... I don't know. Just pointing out that we have players to fill those spots.

Malkin + dangling = score.

EDIT: Or "turnover" if you're trying to convince a Pens fan he should be traded asap.

No.

Nobody is going to claim Commodore on re-entry waivers.

Sending him through waivers is just a chance to see if they can get anybody to free them off his deal.

LoL

Come on now, we're CBJ fans! We got to have some kind of hopes and dreams... (since getting out of the first 40 games over .500 seems to be about par for the course, LoL)

Only if they are on 2-way deals. A player on a 1-way is paid the same regardless.

I'm not convinced everyone here is.

For those who are clinging to that notion of Malkin being traded to Columbus, here's some news for you...

There ain't no Easter Bunny; your parents put the candy in your Easter basket.

Malkin's not getting traded to Columbus.

Sorry to blow your minds, folks, but it was for your own good.

For what its worth I know a lot of Pens fans are sick of Malkins inconsistencies...so I would imagine the mentatility of "for the right price anyone is available" could be applied

This could mean a trade or it could mean calling someone up, who knows, but here you go....

jrimercbj

#CBJ forward Kyle Wilson clears waivers. Dman Mike Commodore placed on waivers 2day. What's next? Stay tuned. Arneil says things will happen

I would think Calvert and Kubalik are on 2-way deals, but I don't know. ????

For what it's worth many CBJ fans think Rick Nash is a gutless fatty. (irony intended)

I guess you can nitpick when you have two superstars... I just wish Columbus had one.

people have to mention Malkin and Richards that way they can build up the possibilities to unrealistic levels. Then, when it doesn't happen, they can complain about it for 100 posts or so.

kind of like how people didn't think this was a playoff club until they won a few games, then were mad and wanted to blow the whole thing up when it became obvious that they weren't a playoff club yet.......even though that's what they thought in the first place....

Portzline just said that Commodore is expected to be at practice today. The Jackets have no intentions of him playing for Springfield.

And the Jackets aren't going to spend a ton more money so they aren't going to send Commodore to the AHL so they can spend more on the NHL roster while stilling paying him.

They are, plus they don't have to worry about passing through waivers to come up and down.

What indication do we have that SH was going to make a "BIG" move? The fact that Wilson was put on waivers, and that Commodore was put on waivers? Arniel said yesterday that the matter would be resolved tomorrow but maybe he meant Commie being put on waivers as being resolved. IMO the jackets are done for the day minus call ups to join the show on the west coast.

Malkin is NOT coming to Columbus today or any other day this season, unless Nash is going the other way (imagine Crosby and Nash together? Yikes). Malkin took the morning skate this morning in Montreal something he would not have done if a deal was near completion.

Pens aren't trading Malkin right now. If we trade him this year, it'll be in the offseason. But that's still about as unlikely as Elvis coming back.

If the Jackets are clearing roster spots, I expect something kind of "big" to leave the Jackets in return for quality players. I'm not talking Nash, I'm talking Umberger, Vermette, Voracek, guys like that. Guys with definite value but not franchise pieces.

If it's with Pittsburgh, Goligoski will be the centerpiece. Maybe something based around Vermette for Goligoski. I hope it's something based around Voracek and Goligoski.
