Dude you are a ****ing beast and I hope one day what you're doing becomes a job. You should honestly go to the NHL and tell them what you're doing, get more media coverage of what you're doing. It must not be that easy in terms of patience, not a lot of people have the patience to do what you do especially if it's their first time seeing the game I'd go nuts!
It's really awesome that you do this and I greatly appreciate reading your break downs. Please keep up the good work and one word: MONETIZE! You should be able to get a **** load of hits for doing this and rightfully deserve to make money off of doing so.
The stats are a pain in the ass to assemble lets face it (even if you do enjoy it) and frankly what you're doing blows me away. Just know it's appreciated anyhow!
NHL.com should hire this guy no joke. I know he can't possibly do every game but maybe he can sell them the idea and show them how it's done and they could hire people him inclusive to start doing this for each team and then he'd be the manager guy who oversees it all. These types of stats are kind of like +/-, they don't paint the whole picture but come UFA time they could be used as fuel. I would not be surprised to hear of agents trying to contact you to do this for their players so they can use it as a bargaining chip. (Wins 80%+ of board battles, does this, does that, etc)
Dude, did you ever thought about selling those services to sport analysts, sport network, etc...?
I mean, bring a strong analysis of a serie of game, the interpretation you made of it, and ask if they would be interested in more. Come up with a reasonable pricing scheme based on the work and time done.
Now apply Martin Seligman's "Learned Helplessness" and "Explanatory Style" concepts to the information and let's get on the horn and make some trades!
For instance, why does Gomez lay down and die in the offensive zone?
We know he likes to go end-to-end. Perhaps the repetition of rink-long rush to the end boards to find zero board help and nobody to make a play with grating?

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I really enjoy doing this (otherwise I wouldn't). As for any interest from the league or teams; well, I'll keep dreaming!

Things like that do happen but you need exposure and a track record. In time I hope u get both if that's what you desire.
Max Pacioretty continues to play like the power forward the Montreal Canadiens sorely need. The big winger shared the top grade (73) with Hal Gill as the Habs shut out the New York Rangers 2-0 on February 5th......
It was a night of lows as the Montreal Canadiens lossed 4-1 to the visiting New Jersey Devils. The Habs set season lows in many categories, including overall team grade (52), offensive-zone puck-battles lost (98), and neutral-zone puck-battles lost (23).
Glad to see you posted it already was a great read. Gives a lot more insight into the decisions Martin makes. I didn't think Darche played great either but when you have the actual numbers it really paints a picture!
You precisely put the finger where it was needed: neutral zone. They completely beat us there. So many turnover. We just couldn't see to keep control of the puck!
Honestly I think this thread should be stickied. I know we had a problem of too many stickies but this thread is just too epic and this guy needs exposure big time.
Wall Battles, Defensive-Zone Coverage, Give Aways; Oh My!
The Habs lost an ugly, if not entertaining game to the Boston Bruins on February 9th. The Canadiens lost all semblance of the strong defensive team they've been this season, falling by an eventual score of 8-6.
