Nash to LA?

Hey guys, Kings fan here. Many of us Kings fans are talking about a potential Nash to LA deal since we've all heard about the "Columbus may be on the verge of a blockbuster" rumors, How do you guys feel about moving Nash for the right price knowing that he's the "face" of your franchise?

Here goes nothing:
Kings send:

Brayden Schenn
Jack Johnson
Viatcheslav Voynov
2nd round pick

Blue Jackets send:

Rick Nash

Yay or Nae?

p.s. Dont shoot the messenger.

After watching tonight's massacre at the Honda Center, I'd actually do that deal.

I would trade him, but I wouldn't do that trade.

Please he doesn't speak for all of us.

I'd easily do Schenn, Moller or Loktionov, Johnson and a 1st for Nash.

If you want Nash, I think I want a goalie coming back our way as part of the package. Make me an offer.

There's no way the Kings will send a goalie but just for the sake of the argument:

Bernier
Johnson
Moller

Nash

Quick and Jack would do me fine...(for Nash and Mason), what did Atlanta get for Bo?

Tell you what, since you are having heartburn over losing a goalie, I'll send Garon back to LA along with Nash. Schenn in place of Moller.

Ya know what, I wouldn't mind getting Garon back but in response to giving Schenn instead of Moller: Hell to the no. Sorry. Bernier, Johnson, and Moller should be enough for Nash and Garon anyway.

Kings fans have always vastly overrated Moller's value. I'll take your first round pick instead.

Nash is one of little player who tries to play hard. And we would trade him.... . It is a good offer but I would prefer to trade other player.

This is all fun and dandy, but Nash is not being traded. Anybody else on the team, maybe, but not Nash.

Heck yes I would do that deal. Time to blow up the Jackets anyhow. Two 1st rounders and a 2nd rounder & 2nd round pick for Nash. But please, dont let CBJ select the draft pick, they will screw that up.

trading Nash to get the elusive center or offensive defenseman is sort of like getting a date with scarlett johanssen but then trading your hands away.

I think this an ok deal. If I was Howson, I would think this over quite a bit.

However, since the Blue Jackets still are trying to get into the playoffs, he would have to swing another big trade to replace Nash's production. That would likely mean that Voracek, Filatov, Moore and/or some picks would have to be packaged for a first line forward.
So a trade like that would rely on another big trade being at works, IMO. Since Howson isn't known for doing big trades at all, two would surely "rock the world".

Yes except switch the 2nd with a 1st. And you got a deal. Look people, I know Nash has been here forever, but eventually we are going to have to deal from the strength to get a better overrall team. Start over in a sense. We basically are using our only good draft pick for picks that are very good that someone else picked. Schenn + Johan + Brass + Jake + Nikki + JJ+ Moore + Voynov + Russell....thats an exciting core to watch. Trade Nash to better the franchise. I do that deal easily. Howson doesnt have enough hair on his ass to pull that off though. Also, Voynov is lighting up the AHL and is projected to be a very good 2nd pair d man...for anyone that didnt know.

No, its not like that at all. For one thing, you can more easily get a scoring winger than you can new hands.

It's also VERY important to be great down the middle. And if you look at teams like that, PHI, VAN, ect they are all very good teams. We have a chance to be that in Schenn, Johan, Brass.

I realize that a lot of folks say Nash should go. I don't agree for a few reasons, none of them original or earthshattering.

1. Just because he is not a Rah-Rah guy, doesn't mean he doesn't care. I believe he cares A LOT. Just can't be expected to do EVERYTHING this team needs. Night after night he tries to do it all himself and carry this team on his back. A lot to ask of one person, no matter the salary. He looks frustrated to me. As frustrated as you are gonna see Nash show to the public, anyway.

2. I don't get the RJ devotion. I guess it boils down to what you personally think passion looks like. Yep, he gets pissed looking and flies around, but he really isn't getting it done out their either. Not buying that RJ cares more or is the "heart and soul" (over-used expression IMO) of this team. You are seeing what you want to see. Trade him. Sounds like he will bring a pretty good return and is less valuable skill-wise than Nash.

3. Like it or lump it, Nash is the one and only name that brings the casual fan to Nationwide. Think attendance is an issue? Fill the roster with Calvert, Sesitito, Blunden, etc and walk up sales will plummet further. Not degrading these guys, just saying as a business you need to have a "star" or what the general public sees as a star to draw in casual fans.
