Bruins Heavily Scouting LA/CBJ Game

From Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch on Twitter:

"Following NHL clubs represented by scouts in LA tonight: VAN, NYR, STL, BOS (2), ANA, MTL, CHI, NYI."

Earlier this week he tweeted:
"#CBJ putting C Kyle Wilson on waivers was meant to clear a roster spot, because the potential is there for a large trade to go down soon."

And there's this as well: http://www.dispatch.com/live/content...s.html?sid=101

There's obviously something going on in Columbus, the question is whether Boston is a match for whatever Howson is looking to do. This doesn't sound like its just a Commodore move, there are a lot of scouts at the NHL game and the Bruins sent two.

How about starting to scout your own team, starting with the 3 clowns behind the bench.

Who would we be targeting in Columbus? Because it sure as **** isn't/better not be Commodore.

Kris Russell is who we need, but I doubt we get him for anything but a King's ransom.

Great contribution and totally on topic too. Good job.

Anyway.. At this point I assume that one of our centers will be part of said trade talk. Probably Krejci. For who I'm not sure as I'm not that familiar with Columbus other than Nash.

I can't help but find myself praying we're shipping Savard out. He has no chemistry here anymore now that Kessel's gone. We were better without him. Bring Caron back up.

It happens.

CLB had 2 scouts at the Bruins Wild game. So did some others.

Agree, Russell is who we need, but disagree it'll take a Kings ransom. He's playing 18-19 minutes, and only has 8 points this year. He's gettable.

I don't think Nash is going anywhere. But I'd do that.

Well if that's the case and he's fallen far enough, maybe we can get something done. He's definitely what the team's been missing from the back end.

Columbus badly needs defensemen, Boston's strength. They can also take on salary.

Keeping Kampfer and adding Russell to this D unit would vastly improve the transition game.

I guess it's that there are a few other signs that Columbus is looking to make at least a considerable move for their NHL roster. Portzline referred to a "potential for a big trade soon," Columbus has been scouting the Bruins, the Bruins are scouting Columbus, and other GMs have told Portzline that Howson is burning up the phones while passing on signing M-A Bergeron.

It can't be a coincidence that CBJ is scouting the Bruins and vice versa. Would be interesting to see if something eventually happens.
