They've been linked to Columbus by a number of people but I don't see a fit, they both need the same things. Columbus doesn't really have anything appealing.

Commodore would be completely redundant with Stuart and McQuaid here, he's not an upgrade over those guys. The Bruins also don't have a contract bad enough to swap for his.

I'd want Russel and Tyutin.

Anyway.. At this point I assume that one of our centers will be part of said trade talk. Probably Krejci. For who I'm not sure as I'm not that familiar with Columbus other than Nash.
I can't part with Krejci. He may not be untradeable... but he's not the center that needs to be moved. Unfortunately the one that needs to be moved is virtually immovable.

Maybe their looking at Stralman as a cheap option. Shouldn't cost much to aquire and is a PMD just not an elite one.

Exactly right. At this point they'll have to sacrifice picks and prospects with support players.

I like Russell, but he has 8 points in 34 games. He is in his fourth year....a nice player, but not the difference maker we need. I consider any trade that doesnt bring an impact player at this point to be a waste of time.

Tyutin is someone I would consider an impact move. Not really thrilled with much else on CBJ....although I have always been a Hejda fan.

Seems tilted in CBJ's favor, but I'd do it to clear 1M off the cap. Boll in, Paillé to Providence.

True, but I think the Commodore thing is separate. They couldn't find a taker and they'll try to do the re-entry waiver dance. If he goes anywhere, it's for a bag of pucks.

There's no obvious match but two desperate clubs might see enough there to pull the trigger.

I know our eyes are on D, but I'd do these:

Ryder -> Umberger
or
Vermette

Wheeler -> C.Clark

Add throw-ins/add-ons where needed. Attitude change up front.

I feel the same way. On the other hand, he's going to grow tired of never making the playoffs sooner or later. He's been in the league since 2002, and has played in a total of four playoff games. Something's gotta give.

Some guys I would target:

Vermette (only in a salary dump deal, like Stuart and Ryder)
Umberger
Brassard
Russell
Klesla
Tyutin

I'd stay the hell away from Filatov.

No Tyutin? IMO, he should be our first target.

Sadly, it's better than what Columbus can offer him.

Stralman has fallen out of favor in Columbus. That's likely the guy they are shopping.

I had him on there and accidentally took him off - I'll fix that. Of course, he should be the first guy to target on that team.

He's exactly what the Bruins need, I'm just not sure Columbus would deal him right now. Maybe in a deal that immediately revamps their defense, like Seidenberg and Stuart?

Now that could be interesting. They picked him up for a 3rd, what would they be looking for now? And who would they take back to make the salaries work?

He makes 1.95 so I don't think Stuart gets it done, plus he's too similar to Commodore. Wheeler then? They're both restricted free agents in the offseason, and it gives them a little cap space but I'm not sure if its enough to activate Stuart.

Don't like this. Tyutin would help Chara a lot, but trading Seidenberg, would create another hole on defense.

Thomas and Stuart
4
Garon Russel and a pick

Then we have cap space and options to make a move or sit at the deadline and have cap space next yr if Chia feels that is the best option.

You know who are clowns? People who post off topic.

The race is so tight in the West, I doubt any team would be ready to throw in the towel.

Doesn't matter who we trade for. Once that player gets indoctrinated into Julien's ***ass defensieve system, Crosby and Malkin could be coming here and we'd still go up 5-0 after two periods and end up losing 6-5 in overtime.
