First time in New York

Coming to New York for the first time to watch the Isles play the Caps on Jan 20th. Comin down from Winnipeg to watch the boys in orange and blue.

Im also attending there practice on the 20th, also by the rink are there any outdoor skating rinks where people have some shinny games?

Tons of lakes, depends though on weather. Id repost this question a day or two before hand.

As for actual rinks with boards (that offer more then just a public skating session) youll have to get that info from someone else.

I think he meant more that it might be too warm, relatively speaking... even in late January, it's sometimes warm enough here that ponds and lakes aren't frozen enough to skate on (or even frozen at all).

Yeah exactly. Few friends of mine hitup a cool spot in patchogue this past week. Oddly though, I went to the same spot a few days later and it was far from safe to skate on. One day of semi warm weather ruins a good 5 days of freezing..

So im leaving tomorrow for New York, Im staying at times square but on the 20th headed to long island in the morning to see the isles practice and going to the game that night. whats to do around the rink?? Is there a lounge/bar that fans go to before games? and how has the weather been lately.. its -40 here right now so anythings an improvement
