Goaltenders:
  • Tim Thomas expected to start for the Bruins
  • Brian Elliott expected to start for the Sens

Game notes:
  • Boston is coming off a come-from-behind 4-2 win over the Crosby-less Penguins, in which they scored all 4 goals in the last 3:30.
  • With Kovalev’s most injury sidelining him for at least a week, the Sens have called up Jim O’Brien.
  • Last time these two teams met, the Sens won 2-0, powered by a solid goaltending performance by Elliott. Feels like a lifetime ago, doesn’t it?
  • Nathan Horton is questionable for tonight’s game. He’s missed the last two with an undisclosed injury. Scratch that, he's back. Thanks to Savynquick!
  • Erik Karlsson is an all-star. We all knew it, and it's about damn time the rest of the NHL find out!

Hopefully our young guys have a good game. I admit our chances of winning are low, but I'll be at home cheering.

And yeah, missing Spezza really hurts the line-up. Next year can't come fast enough where we'll actually have some budding talent on the team and the deadweight will be gone. At least our defence doesn't look too bad right now.

Asking for this game to entertain me is probably asking for too much. Both teams are incredibly boring.

No team with Mike Fisher as the 1st line center could look decent. I propose Operation: Nosedive for Nugent-Hopkins is well underway.

Based on CC's comments the lines should look something like this:

Michalek-Fisher-Alfie
Smith-Winchester-Shannon
Ruutu-Kelly-Neil
Foligno-Regin-O'Brien

or he does not keep the Winchester line together and does not get them more minutes, and based on who the call up is:

Michalel-Fisher-Alfie
Foligno-Regin-Shannon
Ruutu-Kelly-Neil
Smith-O'Brien-Winchester

B's fan here. Big thanks to hockeyalltheway for the line changes! I am hoping for a good game tonight, the Bruins have been brutal at home so far this season.

Adam McQuaid is also out for us with an undisclosed injury. Matt Bartkowski is making his first home game debut tonight after playing in his first NHL game last night.

Can't wait!

Thanks. Either way, looks like we'll be rolling a second line and three 4th lines tonight.

I wouldn't call it a weird feeling considering the current state of the Ottawa Senators playing against perenial Sens killer Tim Thomas. I'd call it premonition.

I took the lines from your GDT and was wondering who Bartkowski was. Thanks for the info!

The Senators have won 3 straight in Boston, all games against Tim Thomas no less.

Myth busted.

Thomas is just incredible when he plays at Scotiabank place. He really likes the lighting.

Watched B's complete an epic comeback on the Pens last night in Pittsburgh down 2-0, no lead is safe against these guys.

A 2 goal lead is not safe for anyone in the NHL.

So if we actually want to embrace the whole losing factor then I think we should cheer on when Boston scores.

Still cheer for the Sens when they score because that will increase their trade value.
