Kinda hoped Dubi would make it. Better for us he didn't I suppose. Better for our contract & better to motivate him even more.

Awesome to see Staal getting recognized. Pretty amusing to see Elias there.

Congrats to Staal! Kind of surprised to see him there since he isn't flashy offensively but he deserved it.

It was funny because just the other day in an interview they asked him if he was looking forward to an All-Star game sometime.

Dubi deserves it, but I think it's definitely better for our negotiations. He's on his way though.

Is it left team vs. right team, or have they just listed the players?

Weird splitting up the Sedins and pretty lopsided goaltending if it's left vs. right.

E: I think all of our players should follow Staal's excellent example and make the all-star team immediately AFTER they have signed a long term deal...

Well deserved for Staal. Now can we stop holding it against everyone on the blueline that they're not the next Brian Leetch?

i guess you haven't heard about the all star game draft, aka the dumbest idea in sports history.

We'll get to see how players view hank and staal compared to their peers.

It's fantasy draft style this year. They will pick two captains, and they will pick their teams like pond hockey pick-up game. I'm sure whoever gets picked last is getting mocked on mic all game.

Kind of gimmicky, but I like it.

I think this is the Rangers first all-star defenseman since Tom Poti

Much deserved for Staal. As much as I like seeing Hank in there I would force him to decline it. Get the rest and dont risk any injury.

I thought the teams would be picked privately and then announce the teams. I don't think they would pick one by one in public so people don't find out who's picked last. I wouldn't want to be embarrassed like that in public if I was one of them.

That's part of the allure, the "drama" - if you will. Someone's feelings are bound to get hurt.

Whoever gets picked last will get ribbed all broadcast. Especially since they tend to mic someone with a mouth (like Savard, JR, Tkachuk in the past).

Anyone else think it'd be hilarious is Eric and Marc are on opposite teams and one of them drills the other in what otherwise amounts to a non-contact game?

Embarrassed to be picked last to play in the NHL all-star game?

Well, let's start the discussion of who will be the last overall pick!

I'm torn between Kessel and Elias.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the Sedin's look like something out of Men In Black in those pictures?

Definitely proud to see those three in there, I had definitely cast my vote for Staalsie.

Staal has earned every accolade and compliment he's gotten this season. He's been phenomenal and absolutely deserves a spot on the All-Star team.
