With the hours counting down, here is to hoping the Oilers

trade up a few spots and get Stafford.

A perfect day at the draft for me would be that the Oilers get Stafford with their first pick and get Dubnyk or Mike Green with the 25th pick. I would love to see them get Dubnyk but I so want Mike Green to be a part of the Oilers organization as well.

To round it out Lowe would come up to the mic and tell us that he has signed Mikhnov and Rita as well as Brewer. The Oilers also anounce that they have locked up Ryan Smyth to a 7 year contract.

Last but not least it is announced that the propsect tournament is back on.

Oh what a sweet day.

Here's what i'm hoping with the draft picks:

#14 or move up to get Rob Schremp
#25 to get Fransson(sp?)
#44 David Shantz

Good call with Fransson. I wholeheartedly agree, however I think the Oilers are higher on Mike Green and if he's available with the 25th, it's very likely the Oilers will pick him. Fransson's coach in the SEL said that he was the teams most untradeable asset and that he's got huge upside. Other people i talk to on Sweedish boards say that he could very well be the best offensive defenseman to come out of Sweeden since Lidstrom. I don't know why there hasn't been any hype on him but if he was still available with the 2nd rounder (chances: a billion to one) i would take him.

With the 14th pick i would want Stafford (who wont be there i know), AJ Thelen, or Robbie Schremph.

I always though Green could be the darkhorse of the players selected in the 1st round. He would be my pick for the Oilers at 25.

I am really hoping that we do this

1st. Schremp/Wolski/Picard/Radulov

2nd. Lisen/Green/Zajac/Korpikoski (likely have to move up a bit)

3rd. Dubnyk/ one of the other goalies

If my some MIRACLE Lowe could pull off even 2 of these guys I would be pleased

I hope Wolski isn't. And I doubt it. Hasn't he been charged for battery and assault? Radulov I'm a little iffy. He's a russian shremp. The only difference is he might not want to play in the AHL or he would rather stay in Russia with Russia offering pretty dam good money.

Picard I like. (I hope we get him). Shremp, i prefer him, because he plays in NA and from the sounds of it, he's s worth the risk for his amount of talent

The Oilers should stay away from Wojo regardless of what he did off the ice

He's been charged, but from what I've read in the local papers it doesn't look like he is going to be convicted. There are alot of people (kids at the party) who have confirmed Wolski's story.

Stafford, Schremp, Picard Korpikoski in that order at 14 (unless speeds' guy Mezsaros is still standing and they really like him), and at 25 Dubnyk, Green, Wheeler or Zajac. That's what I'm hoping for.

I'm hoping for a Stafford, Picard, Meszaros, Schremp, Korpikoski at 14th. I wouldn't even mind drafting Smid or Chipchura in that spot either; I would stay away from Valabik and Wolski however.

At 25th I'm hoping for any one of Green, Fransson, Alexandrov, Wheeler or Zajac.

The late first round/second round picks are going to be more than a little wide open this year. Who knows who could fall or rise?
