God forbid he gets a point or two in his first game.

Will prolong the amount of time for people to realize why he has been in the AHL his whole career.

But I bet Locke will really give us that jolt of speed and grit we're missing...

We're also missing a healthy dose of skill, playmaking ability and hockey sense in our top 6. Locke just might be able to provide that.

What's the worst that can happen...we get shutout? That's already happened twice in the 6 games since we lost our only offensively talented centre.

He'll give neither (accoring to Locke), but scoring a goal would be nice.

O think it's funny that people get so upset about people wanting Locke up. Personally, I don't see him doing anwhole lot, but it can't hurt to try. No one expected St. Louis to ever amount to anything in the NHL either.

I don't think he will be St Louis. I don't think he will necessarily be an NHL player, but Ottawa passed on St. Louis TWICE, so I would like them to at least TRY since the season is lost anyway.

If its his confidence you're worried about, I wouldn't worry too much. He sounds like he came from the same loins as Erik Karlsson ahahaha

The morning headlines mentioned Brodeur was called up today, and it was expected that Lehner would be up for the weekend.

Cam Ward showed up out of nowhere in the playoffs and took his (overachieving) team to the Holy Grail. Let Lehner play one game, see what happens.

Locke, barring the unexpected, won't be much of a factor. However I'm willing to admit you never know, he might show he now has the ability to stay up in the NHL: if he's ever going to pull it off, he has to be given the chance to.

This thread makes me laugh...thanks everyone.

Don't be getting your panties in a bunch now, this is nothing more than auditions for next year.

No pressure on RL as no one expects him to bail out this sinking ship. Just a game or two to see how he can handle it. CL is being rewarded for all his hard work in Bingo. Nothing more. If he does well, then ****, we found a diamond in the rough. If he doesn't work out, did we really lose anything?

This implies he would have a somewhat successful, albeit short, NHL career. Not sure about that...

Listen, I want to be wrong. I'm all for giving him a shot. I hope he makes the team a bit more offensively dangerous. I just think people are really going over the top about expectations....

You don't get it. He is small and Marty St-Louis is small, we might be on to something here.

As for Lehner being called up, I hope it's just for a game or two. I'd rather just ride Elliott out for the season and let him fight for his next contract. So far, it's not going to be that big of a raise at all...
