The trade for this pile of you know what might be one of the worst in Angels History. He sucks + his salary + losing a good power hitting catcher = HORRIBLE.

Don't forget to mention that because of Wells, super prospect Mike Trout has to toil in AAA Salt Lake instead of being a mainstay in the League.

Then again... maybe it's because of Wells' inadequacies that we were forced to go out and get Pujols. What's done is done. This team needs a better third baseman that can field well and hit well. If only we can put Callaspo's fielding talent into Trumbo, then we would have an equivalent of All-Star Adrian Beltre... who, btw, the Angels could have signed easily, but got out maneuvered by the Rangers. The result of that weakness was being backed into trading for Wells and his albatross of a contract.

Yikes! It all points back to the previous GM, Reagins! Ahem... I may be construed to thinking there may be a parallel here with the Ducks' situation (cough, Beauchemin, cough).

The Angels are off to another garbage effort, WTF?!? Wells is terrible, how perfect would be Napoli in this lineup...

Of course AP doubles with both Aybar and Kendrick out.

Don't even compare the worst contract in the MLB chump Wells with Beauch who has a good contract and he's also an extremely solid dman who can chip in offensively. No way in hell the two trades are similar, Napoli at that point was way better as an actual player than Gardiner was projected to be as a prospect too.

The Angels usually have a crappy April. But at the moment, I'm blaming pitching more than offense. Although Offense in these past two games have been lacking. Pujols needs to step up. Wells is back to crap after the usual promising spring. Next season, no one tell him the regular season has started until October.

The parallel was the incompetence of foresight. The Ducks could have kept Beauch, and thus keeping both Lupul and Gardiner. It wouldn't have been necessary to trade. But from what I recall, Beauch wasn't offered a contract from the Ducks. Similar could have been said with the Angels. If the Angels put in a much better offer to get 3B All-Star Beltre, then there wouldn't have been the need to make a trade just to make a trade a la Wells for Napoli and Rivera... with the knowledge that Napoli would be then traded to the Rangers.

The lack of appropriate signings disabled the futures of each club. I like having Beauch back, but it was costly when you see the Ducks gave away Lupul and Gardiner when in retrospect it wouldn't have. Similarly, the Angels took on Wells' contract of $86 mil for four years. Beltre signed with the Rangers for $96 million for six years.

Wells' and his contract aren't the only huge blunder. Bobby Abreu's contract for this season could have been dissolved last season if he didn't hit a particular quota which enables his contract to continue for the 2012 season. Abreu had hit a decline all last year, but the GM couldn't pull the trigger. Now if the Angels wish to ditch Abreu onto another team, then the Angels would have to pay the majority of his $8 mil contract. The really sad part of this was that Mike Trout was making his ways into the Leauge last season. Now, because of incompetence, super prospect Mike Trout will have to strive through a season of AAA ball. Which isn't a bad thing, but paying a rookie scale vs $240 mil Pujols & $8 mil Abreu is. I didn't mention Wells because if the Angels had signed Beltre, then that contract is a wash... but better for the Angels actually.

At least CJ looked good. Unlike Haren and Santana.

It's been three games. The beauty of baseball is that there are 162 of them to straighten out the statistics.

I have a feeling Trout will be up by May. Too bad for Wells, he's just trying way too hard.

That was the greatest Simpsons cameo of all time. Beats Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison.

Angels vs Twins this afternoon.

A couple really odd plays by Angel's defense... double clutch from 2nd to 1st for no reason and Maur makes it to 1st, overthrows for no reason... almost like they're trying to intentionally blow a 6 run lead...

They blew a 6-0 lead, losing 10-9.

Bullpen is brutal, way worse than expected. The offence is nothing special either.
Not only the team look shaky to say the least, but expecting big things I drafted a lot of Angels players in my fantasy team... having a great return

I picked up Trumbo off of free agency on my fantasy team. The only Angel I have. Not bad for a free player.

But I didn't see a problem with the offense. They scored nine runs. And that was without Morales for the whole game.

I got Kedrys and Howie and CJ. Those 3 have been pretty good before Howie went like 0-11 in this series.

The offense is scoring more than last season. The last two games the bullpen just simply blew it. So if you didn't draft any of the bullpen outside of Scott Downs, then you should be fine.

Bad start. Bullpen sucked last year and no improvement this season: they will blow more games. Pujols having slow start and he doesn't get any protection from the batters around him.

Yankees leading 4-0...time to do something else, like drinking beer.

So much for the good offense, banked by the Yankees!

I drafter Howie (started good, then meh, today not even the lineup), Aybar (whenever I play him he sucks and Asdrubal Cabrera score, today I sit him right away... two hits), Trumbo (dropped for Cespedes), Kendrys (dropped for a pitcher) and Haren...

This team is too good to play like this, but same was said of the Ducks this season...

Baseball's a much more fickle game than hockey. This team will turn around. Like I said, they always have a bad April.
