Ok, so, who do you consider untradeable on this team.
I'm not talking about NTC or NMC's, im talking about guys you value so much you wouldnt move them for anything outside of a gross overpayment (Stamkos for Stepan for example).
I know ppl have soured on Grachev and AA over the past few years, but i still absolutely love/believe in em.
As for Kreider and Grachev, I would rather not move them as I'm pretty high on both, but being as they aren't part of the team currently, and if they could return NHL ready talent, I'd entertain it.
And isn't Grachev only 20 y/o??? Hate to think people are giving up on a 20 year old, have we been that spoiled lately??
I think you have too many on your lists tbh... You'd trade probably everyone of those players if you got a better return on the same position I'm sure.
In my eyes the two least likely players to be traded by the rangers would be Lundqvist because he's one of the best goalies in the league and there's no goalie that is clearly better than him at this point and a future captain in Callahan. I can see all others being traded if you got a better part back. Obviously you would trade either of those for someone like Crosby but yeah.. that wont happen hehe
If Ottawa offered Spezza, and a young needs to go the other way, I offer AA. I'd listen on an offer for Gaborik. Unlike Staal, Girardi could eventually be replaced from within, or upgraded in a deal. Dubi, Cally, MDZ and Kreider all have unique abilities not replaceable within the organization.
Anisimov- too much talent to not have patience with
Staal and girardi- going to be long time rangers blueliners, two guys you can build a defense and culture around
Dubinsky and cali- both are the heart and soul of this team, trading one of them would be like loosing a lung or leg, just can't go on the same without them
Stepan- future of the team, a vital part of this teams future is based around this guy progressing as he has an pannin out
Del zotto- I think a lot of people forgot about him, weve passed up on similar draft choices, ad possible free agent offensive and pm defenseman, he's another vital part of this tram future success
Kreider- he's IMO our best real prospect, he's has rare speed an could really give this team something we haven't had in a while a real speedster that keeps the defense on their toes every shift all game
I honestly don't think gaborik is untradeable, that's just the way I feel, I also don't think grachev is untradeable, he's a big question mark IMHO and if another teams see in him what our fans do and offered a trade sather would deffinitslly think about it a lot more and harder than kreider, del zotto, Cali, dubi.
The only guys who would never return equal value in a trade and therefore leave the team in a bind both short and long term:
Everyone else can be part of an upgrade. It wouldn't be easy, but it wouldn't be something that sets the team back years.
My reasoning, Lundqvist is pretty much self explanatory, there aren't many goalies that are better than he and any trade would be a lateral move with too great a risk. We know he plays well here, there's no real chance at getting better.
The other four are the guys that you bring in elite talent to play with, and in the special case of Callahan, no move would hurt the team's identity more.
I know everyone is going to jump on me for excluding Stepan or Anisimov, and while those are great players to be sure, including them in a bigger trade to get a pipe-dream kind of guy (Stamkos, Nash, whatever) doesn't set the team back. To me, that's the ultimate criteria for the cornerstone kind of player.
