Pretty sure our stars have been saving it up for tonight.

/commence annual rant

I think records should differentiate regulation losses, losses in OT, and losses in shootouts. And wins too, why not. This is the information age after all. 24-12-7. Our record is more like 20-2-2-12-4-3. So in 43 games we won outright in regulation 20 times. <50%. Hard to see that in the standings though.

/terminate rant

I've lost track, do the Caps suck right now or not? It changes so frequently these days...

Also, I like this GDT.

This game is for all the marbles.

Until a few days later, when one team might have to give the other team some marbles back.

hopefully caps have some gas left in the tank after the OT game last night. I think the caps are due for a break out game and got a feeling if roloson starts the game he might not finish it.

They suck, but every team other than Vancouver sucks more. Every coach is a simpleton, except Vigneault...and Blysma, because he has two benefits of the doubt.

David Steckel is going to concuss Stamkos tonight. He won't rest until Ovechkin is in the lead for the Richard.

Was surfing the NHL Power Rankings (I know, meaningless blabber but still) on Yahoo today and wasn't suprised to see the Penguins listed one spot above the Caps. It was posted yesterday, the morning after the great Penguins and their rock-solid, all knowing coach were humiliated allowing four goals in the final three minutes of another loss. The same Penguins that have won once since Christmas including a loss to Washington. They're somehow more deserving of a better ranking despite the fact the Caps haven't lost in regulation since before Christmas.

Anyhoo, I had to smile at the comments the author made under the Penguins bullet. Said plain and simple Sidney was "cheap shotted twice" and the league is doing nothing to protect him.

Dave Steckel...the cheap shot master. I can only hope he doesn't claim another victim tonight. The Panthers must be feeling very fortunate none of them ended up in ICU with poor defenseless Sidney.

The hitman is a man on a mission. Tampa is his old nemisis. I look for a Gordie plus suspension from this blood bath.

No Steckel and Hedman will collide as touched by the hand of God and their mutual destruction will create a baby Jesus spirit who'll heal Sidney Crosby's head with a can of Iron City beer. And the healed and empowered chosen one will vanquish all non-believers... while explaining to the league that the collision that led to his resurection was actually legal.

Also, I am taking some delight in knowing that a few are now humming the Shaft theme while at their keyboards.

He is kind of tall and lanky but the hitman would have also got that knee out a bit more. And taunted. Assuming of course, they have knees. Maybe Cortez knows since he off'd one with his golf cart recently.

I must've heard wrong, bc I could have sworn Carlson said in a pre-game interview that they did the job at home against Tampa and now they have to do it on the road.

I'm pretty sure they lost that game; unless he was talking about his pairing.

Tonight's game is why you don't waste opportunities like last night.

He probably meant defensively, at least them specifically. Stamkos was a non-factor in the end so, yeah, they did what they had to do.

I took it as the three home games on the slate overall (2-0-1).
