The "Feel" List

Good column by Brownlee today, about the Oiler's "Feel List":

http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/Edmont...25/513470.html

Details a seperate list the Oilers have for deep into the draft of smaller guys or players who stood out for one reason or another, and the successes they've gotten from the list (Kyle Brodziak for one).

Well, it does makes sense after all to make a separate list for a kind of boom/bust type of player of making the NHL. After a while when selecting in the later rounds, you have to take a flier on some guy. If you have a list of guys with only a few flaws, however serious, there's always the possibility of them overcoming/correcting that flaw: you then have a steal. It shows good organization in regards to the draft. Although I'm not quite sure if other clubs perform the same task.

Send a message via ICQ to Hellström
That´s one of the most interesting articles
A short one, but lots of unknown information.

Ullmann is hopefully on the "Feel List"

It is a good article, but Brownlee better get his facts straight

He seemes to forget that Riesen played 12 games for us in 2000

Not a big deal, but if you want to maintain any journalistic integrity, you should at least do a little research before you write an article.

That's what I thought too, but those dozen games were played as camp opened in the fall of 00, so he is correct when he says "since 2001".

Not at all. I read it and zipped over to hockeydb with the same thought in mind. In reality, that specific sentence is a little misleading BECAUSE they exclude Riesen's 12 games. Credit to Brownlee though, he is lapping the field over at the Journal right now.

I'm still holding out for McKinnon though...he seems to mean well at least.

His column today in regard to the Bertuzzi case is extremely well written.

Kudos to you, LT, for picking up a broken man's spirits and helping me to crawl from under that big rock where I was hiding
