btw, I know some of you are huge stat nuts.

When Van Der Beek shows up on the first page of the GDT, we have a pretty solid record.

First of all, it's not just a defensive system. You may have noticed that even with a lead late in the third, the Rangers were still forechecking at least one and sometimes two forwards. But as a whole, this team has a lot less offensive firepower as his team in Tampa, so he's working with what he has. It speaks to his prowess as a coach that he's able to mold his strategy to fit the players that he has.

To be fair, they probably thought they would get 2 points without much trouble
Right you are. "The Rangers are trapping us to death. They are making a mockery of the game" on the Canucks GDT. Really? Looked to me like there were 2 guys in the Vancouver zone for most of the period. So the D stayed back. If not for Schneider, The Rangers win this one going away. The only thing more sore than those Canuck fans are Marc Staal's onions.

Shutting out the Nucks and handing them their first regulation loss since December 5th is just a great feeling. Awesomeness!

99% of the people that whine about the trap don't even actually know what the trap is.

What a game! What can I say that hasn't already been written. That is a good, no great, Canucks team but our defense gave them nothing. Torts and Sully have done a tremendous job teaching this team how to play d. Sticks in the passing lanes, guys stacking the slot, just text book defense. This team is playing playoff hockey and thats probably what worries me the most. Playing this way tends to wear you down and even though we are very, very young I can still see this team being gassed come playoff time. Anyway, enjoy the win till Saturday!

Boyle was insanely good tonight.

Lundqvist was great as usual.

Just a fantastic team effort from everyone.

This game gave me the chills....My God!!!!!! We are pretty legit guys. We may have a Colorado esque run this season.....who knows what happens though. These guys are playing with a great deal of heart and when that's involved you just never know. Especially when Talent is in the mix as well.

Yeah, what the heck are they talking about. We did not trap even in the 3rd and actually continued to aggressively forecheck when the opportunity presented itself.

HF board fan definition of the trap: Playing defense.
