if you could do over a minor trade

If we had the opportunity to turn back the clock, would you still trade Matt D'Agostini for Aaron Palushaj? I know that Palushaj is still just a kid but his production in the AHL makes me wonder if he will ever make it in the NHL. On the other hand, D'Agostini (although far from a superstar) has chipped in with decent numbers.

Not a flame on Palushaj. Just wondering if you had a "do over", would you?

I've been a big fan of Palushaj since his early days at U of M. While he's taking time to really find his game in the pros, I'm convinced he'll make the NHL. Probably as a 3rd liner, but still...

I still like this trade. The trade I would redo is the O'bryne trade. Bournival sounds like a nice prospect, but with our D injuries I'd take him back. Still can't believe they chose Picard over O'bryne. Big Fail.

I still don't like him though.

LOL, so another 3rd-4th liner.

I wouldn't make the trade...but I can understand why the trade was made.

I liked D'ago but would still make the trade. At the time, d'ago was a spare part for us and wans't getting much playing time. We didn't have a space for a project who couldn't even play(that year he was bad) and we traded him. It happens.

In essence we got:

Eller, Palushaj, and Shultz

for

Halak and D'agostini

A big center prospect, a speedy winger prospect and a physical winger prospect for:

One of two goalies we had with same potential(not same as any other position as only one Goalie can play!) and a player who wasn't performing for us and hadn't proven much at the time.

We chose the Kostitsyns over him, and that certainly backfired...

I'd re-do Asham - Czerkawski

Edit: I'd un-do it is what I'm trying to say

If D'Agostini sticks in the NHL it will be as a 3rd liner, so I'm not really sure what your point is.

The list of re-do's would be very long with this franchise...

The only MINOR trades I would redo are the Roy and Recchi trades.

How so? He could be a decent 2nd liner if he plays consistently.

He'd be 5th on the Habs in points and tied for 4th in goals.

I think that at that time, they chose Plekanec and Koivu over Grabovski. I don't think that he could have been as effective as a third liner. Also, our top three centers would have been really small (not that it's gigantic right now either but still).

He wouldn't have the same amount of points on this team. Hes a nice top 9 forward but I don't see him as an upgrade over the top 9 wingers we have.

Keep in mind that some trades are made because the player would have to clear waivers to be sent down. I think D'agostini is one of those players, so he was traded instead. Another example is Marcel Hossa - he wasn't going to make the Habs out of camp so he was traded to the Rags for Garth Murray.

I can't believe you posted that -- I was going to post the same but was going to ask how far back I was allowed to go. For me, that was the worst 'B Side' trade we've made in the last 10-15 years.

Gomez trade! I know it isn't minor but McDo should have never been involved.

Grabovski trade was also an abortion but with gainey every trade was basically like getting bent over. The guy was like Milbury without any elite talent to throw away.

That's not at all what happened.

Grabovski wasn't playing great in his role and was thus a healthy scratch. He decided that if he wasn't going to get a lot of icetime, as an unproven rookie, he'd quit on the team and ask to be traded.

He was.

Piss poor attitude. Even if he was still within the Canadiens' organization, where would you put him? He isn't better than Gomez or Plekanec, he isn't defensively responsible to play in the bottom six.

shorter to list the transactions that we wouldn't re-do, although at the moment I am hard pressed to think of one.

Very minor trade, and obviously way to early to say because we don't know how Festerling is going to turn out, and because we don't know if were gunna get a steal of 5th rounder... The Lapierre trade I could do without, he had good hands at times, and was just fun to watch

Lapierre deal / Sergei deal. Both for peanuts, **** you too Gauthier. Players are mishandled... over and over again, and it sucks.
