I was going to analyze the line combos, but I wouldn't be shocked if they're for practice only.

With that said...

WELCOME BACK, KYLE MOTHER ****ING OKPOSO!!!

Way stoked, Okposo is definitely my favorite Islander too!

Even if we still suck, I am so glad to see us get one of our best, and by far the hardest working player on the team back!

Now only if Wang could sell the team so I can buy a #21 jersey, cant give wanger any more of my money...

It's funny that you said this; I've been trying to figure out the right time to buy a KO jersey, as well. I figured that I'll wait for his next contract (which also allows me to see what kind of money the team spends next season.)

OH HELL YEAH!!!

Can't wait to see KO back on the ice. I know he's going to be a little rusty but it'll be great to see him on the ice again. So pumped for this game even more now.

Is anyone else thinking its a little odd they have KO playing LW and with the rumors of Moulson be traded.....just a thought that crossed my mind.....
I think that is a mistake and they have it opposite. KO has never played LW and when it was suggested in the past was always shot down because he is not comfortable on that side. He has played center in college, but not LW to my knowledge.

Maybe they're trying to protect his bad right shoulder on the off wing. He would absorb hits on the left shoulder against the boards.

They should put him on a line whith Gillies, so if anybody so much as breathes on him Gillies can take off his skate and stab them. And that includes Moulson.

I like where your heads at.

Welcome Back Kyle Okposo. You have been sorely missed by all of us here.

Good news is that Okie was never really a physical checker, so he shouldnt hurt his shoulder again we hope. He relies on speed and his active stick. God dam i miss watching him fore/back check.

I really hope thats not the case. If so he shouldn't be playing at all.

Welcome Back KO. I can't wait until tomorrow!

I'll set the O/U to two games, for when the board has a reactor meltdown over Okposo.

I can see it now...

"HE'S NOT THE SAME!"
"HE CANT FINISH!"
"2nd Liner with 70 point potential"
"HE'S NOT A WASHED UP GRITTY ENFORCER AND HE'S INCONSISTENT THEREFORE HE HAS NO HEART!"

Seriously glad he's back.

According to the Isles website the practice lines today were:

Forwards
26 Matt Moulson – 91 John Tavares – 15 PA Parenteau
57 Blake Comeau – 12 Josh Bailey – 37 Jeremy Colliton
40 Michael Grabner – 51 Frans Nielsen – 21 Kyle Okposo
17 Matt Martin – 28 Zenon Konopka – 14 Trevor Gillies
44 Rob Schremp

Honestly, if that's the case, then they shouldn't even play him yet. If his shoulder is still an issue where taking some contact will cause a relapse, then he should sit out the extra few games to make sure it's 100%.

Especially with the All-Star break coming up, he'll miss, what, another 2 or 3 games, total? Better to do that and return completely healed than return for 2 or 3 games and play the off-wing to minimize any sort of contact with his shoulder.

This makes more sense. If Okposo's ready to return, then his shoulder should be able to handle whatever contact he'll receive playing his natural side. If it's not able to do that, he should be sat until it is.

The fact he's listed at his regular side indicates that it is.

Amazingly (well not for this franchse) we don't even know what the cause of the shoulder injury was.
We knew that Moulson checked Streit and it was a freak accident, but KO?

Agree with everything you said there. If he isn't 100% why in the hell would they consider starting him especially with the ASG coming up. Then again this is the Islanders but I'm just guessing/hoping hes all set to go.... I am so pumped for him being back I definitely be there tomorrow night!

Why is Schremp in the dog house? I noticed he was playing on the 4th line last game. Hes been having a rough stretch lately but I'd still rather have hime centering Comeau and Bailey than have Colliton on the second or even third line.

Colliton is an AHLer. He had a few good moments when he was first called up but he hasnt dont crap since. I'd put Schremp centering Comeau and Bailey, scratch Gillies and have Colliton on the 4th line.

Am I the only one who think Martin might be better served playing in the AHL if hes just going to get 4th line minutes?

With only 11 forwards dressed last game, the guys were lined up all over the place. Bailey, for example, was even switching between center and winger (which didn't help for the Tedenby goal).

Still, it's been a few games now since Schremp did some creative magic. I still bet he's between Comeau and Bailey tomorrow night.

Like his effort, but I'm no fan of his lumbering style. He's really fighting to compete and is often very beatable by the opponent in those little battles on the boards and races for the puck.

Don't see him on the RW side for long.

No, there are roughly 22 guys and a catching staff in Bridgeport who share your sentiments.
