gabby is much less "untradeable" than cally or dubi. yea gaborik is elite...when's he's "on," when he's healthy, when he's playing with the right line, etc. cally and dubi bring it every night and are growing more and more irreplaceable. i trade gabby before any of those guys.
a big and to those bolded.
Stewart I could have put in group 2, but the groupings weren't meant to be straight up. I added the word combo's as in and deal for any of them could be centered around the players mentioned with tweaks to the deals.
Make no question though, Stewart is a force. He's 23. Physically he's a monster. And the guy gets his nose dirty in high traffic areas. He's a young Jerome Iginla, and 40 goal seasons are certainly not out of the question for him in the very near future.
And for the record I am not saying to trade these guys...Just trying to put a value on them. Like in the case of Stewart. It's probably likely that Avs fans wouldn't trade him for any member of that group 2 Rangers list. But...Even a guy like Dubi, would still warrant no's from Avs side. Personally if I was GM for a day, I wouldn't trade Dubi ever. He's my favorite player.
The lists are to just put equal value on players without overhyping them.
Girardi has been pretty amazing, but you can't make a player like that untouchable. He isn't good enough. He is the type of player that you move (in a package) to get an elite NHL top line player. But only in that situation.
AA being untouchable is kind of silly to me. He will be solid NHL player, but his ceiling at this point is a 2nd line center. He is very movable. If Slats grabs Richards, AA could be moved as it is.
Grachev is close to being on the top list, but I would only move him to get an elite player. Too many people have given up on Grachev, given that both Russians and power forwards take time to develop. He is both.
