Bouch had a poor game, but I dont think he was the real problem tonight. 2 bad goals, 1 weird goal, 1 goal that shouldnt have counted, a 5 on 3 goal, and a deflection
Carle was the definition of ******** the bed. Walker was invisible, but I guess that's good. Seriously, we should trade Leighton, Carle and Walker for a 2nd round pick. Or maybe Lydman. Or Leopold. Just something.
He had some really big stops in the first. One goal came off a weird end-board bounce. The game-winner was perfectly placed as I said. At least one goal was him being screened. One is a 5-on-3 goal. And I've already said that the squeezer was weak. One goal I don't remember exactly.
Yes, it is possible to have a good game but still let in 6 goals. It's called getting beaten.
Still, I guess it's either living in the land of milk and honey or the ****ing apocalypse on this here board.
I find it hard to blame Boosh. He's a backup. Laviolette was playing him like a starter. More then a starter actually. He was riding him into the ground. Which makes no sense since he has a long-established track record of being a backup.
Personally, if you're blaming Boosh for having a bad game, I'd blame Laviolette as well. It's not like people weren't complaining about Laviolette's "ride the hot goalie till he implodes" philosophy before.

Which would make sense if he didn't already establish himself as a crappy extra d-man/sixth d-man before he ever came here. If you're expecting Walker to suddenly become a decent d-man...don't know what to tell ya.
It says he had a completely ****** game. He was bad. Not denying it. Just think the calls to ship him out are a little much.
Yeah, this team is still ultimately ****ed when it comes to the POs because I don't think neither Bob nor Boosh has a 2 month run of consistency in him. I mean, 2 games like this in a 7 game series and you are done.
I'm still a little confused why Carle is getting abused so badly, it was a bad TO on the goal, but it's not like he was bad for the rest of the night or anything, just thought it was kind of a mediocre defensive effort all-around.
Boucher has played well this season and had a rough game, but it is games like this that show me why I think we still need better goalkeeping to win the cup. Whenever we get into a game like this where the defense stops playing, we always lose.

Carle was -3....I'm not sure how anybody can say the guy didn't play poorly. The pairing of him and Walker was beyond dumb...

There's no such thing as a "perfectly placed" shot from that angle. That's a shot that has to be saved 100% of the time.
I mean, I'm not sure that Flyers fans are used to see competent goalies play if they think that kind of goal is acceptable. It's a simple geometric save, you cut the angle, it is literally impossible for the shooter to beat you barring an insane defelection.

He's a mediocre defenseman who gets paid to be a very good defenseman.

He was bad the rest of the game as well(one really good D play though). All 6 six D had at least 1 bad turnover/failed clears tonight it was a brutal defensive effort.
Walker and Carle were by far the worst
There's more to the game then just looking at pure stats. Good goaltending revolves around the quality of the opponent's chances, not how many goals were scored.
This is obviously an extreme hypothetical, but if a goalie gets beat on six three-on-ones, but stops every other shot and chance against, you're not gonna say that those goals were due to bad goaltending, are you?

Called it. You could see that coming a mile away before the game even started.

I'm not commenting on whether or not Boosh was bad. This was just one of those types of games. I did comment that Laviolette deserves some blame here if you're this this ready to jump on Boosh for a bad game though. Just a few posts back.
