Same thing applies to defense. When your salary structure is such that you have 2 guys at or close to 7 million and a goalie at close to 6, you shouldn't have 2.8 and 3.6 million defenders on your bottom pairing.

Jackman got 550k cause he hadn't proved anything... once a 4th liner proves themselves they usually get around a million (ie. Kostopoulos)

I think a lot of 4th liners are at their best when they haven't proven anything. Too many of these guys score a few goals and start thinking top 6 and get away from what made them successful in the first place.
