With all of Sims "agitating" did he once drop the gloves as an Islander or even his NHL career?

Bottom of the barrel hockey and basketball players can make a lot more money playing in Europe. Sim knows he has no legit hope of making a living in the NHL. I mean, if you have a low salary to begin with, you get waived repeatedly by a last place team, and nobody else claims you, there's obviously no interest in your services. Gute reise und viel erfolg.

@Mike, not sure where you hear Sim's a bad guy in the room. I have traveled with the team several times, and I never got that impression. He is well liked by the guys.

It may be his next stop.

If I'm in his shoes, I do not want to be rotting away in the AHL.

Still, if he's now out of the picture, this doesn't help our depth problems IN THE LEAST.

Snow might need to look at adding a few more legitimate bodies at the AHL levle for depth.
From your lips to Snowy's ears. The sound tigers were looking like a playoff team this season and now we're looking more and more like an ECHL team.

How does that work within the Salary cap ?
Does he still get paid if he chose to void his contract by walking ?
Does his number still count on our cap ?

I don't think it counts against the cap, since it's not a buyout. It really wouldn't matter through

Don't burn your bridge here Jon, you might lose your shot at the head coaching job

didn't know he was considering Europe, good for him, I hope he does well there.

Sim was not a problem on this team, but I'm glad he's not on the team anymore because he was also not part of a solution, unfortunately.

Word out of Uniondale is Sim has NOT taken an offer to play in Europe.

He will instead work with the Isles by starting IslesPointBlank.com...and he'll report and provide insight on the goings-on around the team.

He'll eventually haphazardly claim that Garth Snow prefers sherbert over vanilla ice cream and Garth will strip him of his media credentials.

Good.

Now, I will (hopefully) never hear again:

"And Comeau starts up the ice, IT'S A 2 ON 1!!! He looks, passes the puck to....

....Sim....

Misses. Anddd, the play goes the other way"

Didn't like the Sim signing to begin with.

Liked the re-signing as he took the time to get my son a puck at his first game in the locker room. A real nice gesture that, to a man, I'll be eternally grateful. Made my 3 year old son's day even better a year or so back.

Don't like him leaving as he saves Cheap-skate Charlie some cash.

In a way, good for him. F this clown shoes organization and the B-port shuttle.

If I were him, I'd have left too telling the GM and the owner to go **** themselves.

Good riddance! Hopefully Wishart comes up, I'd like a good look at him, Reese is on waivers as well today.
If you think for one moment that Cheap-skate Charlie didn't think to himself "Self, if Jon Sim got frustrated and up and left, hence saving me money, what are the odds that Reese will do the same? Time to put him on waivers. Oh Gaarrrth..." then you're only fooling yourself.
