Inb4 we draft another pre-med student in the 7th this year instead of him.
I knew the kid was a player coming out of high school, but his puck moving has been awesome in the NCAA. The Devils gave him some player of the month award when he was a senior in HS, so they definitely know who he is. I was really surprised that no one took a flyer on the kid last year.
He reminds me a lot of what Marek Zidlicky has been doing for us.
FWIW, this article talks about the "ones to watch" in the 2012 draft and Ryan is one of 17 NCAA players they mention. They give each player an A, B, or C grade and they gave him a B. Only two players were given A's and four were given B's.
Five minors AND a 2-5-10 committed by Ferris State, totaling 27 PIMs and 15 minutes of PP time, and still not a PP goal to show for Cornell.
Quoting myself from a different forum:
"The Cornell PP is Devils-like. In fact, Cornell is basically the NCAA version of the Devils. Always pretty good, disappointing in the postseason since 2003, a goalie who looks ridiculous when he plays, and traptraptraptraptrap."
