What does Matthias have to do to get more ice time? That was an awesome shift he had in overtime. The majority of the time he was on the ice he seemed to use his size really well.

Really nice job by Stillman, as well, in OT. And Weiss with the pass that setup the goal.

That was great effort in OT.

Great shift all around!

Nice to see that Kulikov has so much confidence/patience at such a young age.

Nice to get the win after that garbage goal.

Stillman, Weiss and Matthias played a very good OT period. And Kulikov of course!

Now I don't care how "good" Clemmensen has been lately, I want Vokoun in the net against Atlanta!

If DeBoer is consistent with his definition earlier today, Clemmensen will get the start against Atlanta. Not to mention that Vokoun's been horrible against Atlanta this year...

That whole minute before Kuli scored was awesome. The guys just battled out there.

Kulikov's fake before the goal was gorgeous! So happy for him. He has by far more points than Luke Schenn.

Almost 18.000 in attendance, way to go. Keep it up people!

We'll see...

But I'd be shocked if Vokoun doesn't get the start next monday.

Like it's been said before, it's not like Vokoun has been terrible and Clemmensen spectacular.

There's absolutely no reason to bench Vokoun for a third game. No matter how bad he's been against Atlanta this year, bottom line is that we have more chances to win with him in the net.

Clemmer played his former team, that's probably why he got the call. Vokoun on monday for me too.

If we're going by that, then Vokoun should have played against Nashville.

DeBoer's definition this morning of the guy he wanted in net for this team...

“Whether you like the goals against or not, the fact is, if we give up more than two goals in a night, we're going to have trouble winning. In the starts he's had, he's been able to keep it to two or under and give us a chance. That's the type of team we are."

Whether you liked his performance tonight or not, Clemmensen did exactly what DeBoer asked of him, again.
I'd say not going back to him after getting another win allowing 2 goals or less would be hypocritical of DeBoer, at this point.

Vokoun's struggles against Atlanta (while Clemmensen was actually stellar against them last time in relief) is only icing on the cake.

I would've never started Clemmensen against Nashville to begin with, but if you're going to give a specific definition of what you want, you might as well stick to your word, as coach.

Be consistent.

There was no where near 18000. I was at the game and this is the emptiest I've seen the BAC all season.

Great game though. Dadonov's and Kulikov's goals were sick.

I'd say at there were probably about 16,000 people there. There were fans in the upper bowls behind the goals in the last row on both sides, but still enough empty seats where there was no way to equal 18,000.

Anyway, besides the two powerplay goals, this was a pretty bad overall game against a team lower than us in the standings. What did we get only 21 shots in regulation compared to their 35? Thank god for that surge of energy in overtime which led to the goal. Our percentage of making the playoffs went up to 44%.

Since we haven't won 4 games in a row since the 07-08 season, I'm not really looking forward to the game on Monday to a team we have problems with quite often.

Also, I don't know if any of you were up near section 434 where I was, but after that 2nd Devils goal, these two guys almost got into a big fight. The Panthers fan was mimicking the Devils fan because he sort of sounded like he belonged on the Jersey Shore. I couldn't help but laugh and also laugh because we suck at holding leads. I couldn't believe the Devils fans around me were taking this game so serious though. They have NO chance at making the playoffs, so wouldn't they want them to tank?

After having been to the game I can say that New Jersey's age is catching up to them they were significantly slower than the Panthers which I think was a key difference in the first two periods. The third period scared the snot out of me because the Panthers were just dead and right before Kulikov scored I was envisioning him having a Higgins moment. Was a fun game to be at.

Thats funny, I've been to every game this season except the buffalo game, and I thought other than the Montreal game and opening night this was the most crowded its been. they even took the tarps down.

Great work by some of the young guys Matthias and Kulikov in OT, Dadonov with another goal and he draws another penalty in this game, which he seems to do a lot.

I made a video from the footage I took from my iphone of the OT game winner. It is a different view and I synced it up with the announcers on the telecast! Gives a great idea of what it was like to be in the stands tonight! Gotta love an OT winner. I was thrilled!!!

I agree Matthias has played really well - but I don't think PDB is anti-Matthias as much as it's an issue of the guys ahead of him not deserving to lose any ice time.

Who do you take ice time away? Weiss has been on an absolute tear. Santorelli is on a 5 game point streak and has been our most consistent offensive presence. Reasoner is our best defensive forward, by far (IMO) and is the perfect 3rd line (checking) center because of it. His 8 goals ain't too shabby, either.

Matthias is a center....so who loses the ice time?

For once, it's nice to have the problem of having too many players deserving ice time. Before, it was too many guys that deserved to be benched.
