Mike Fisher

Curious as to what your team would give up for Mike Fisher. Nothing specific is needed for the sens I am just very curious as to his value to YOUR team.

2009-10 - Penner - 82 Games, 31 Goals, 32 Assists, 63 Points
2009-10 - Fisher - 79 Games, 25 Goals, 28 Assists, 53 Points

2010-11 - Penner - 16 Games, 6 Goals, 2 Assists, 8 Points
2010-11 - Fisher - 18 Games, 4 Goals, 3 Assists, 7 Points

Yes I agree they should get someone who is going to "outscore" him.

I'd rather have Fisher than Penner. His physicality and defensive ability are better than an extra 5-10 points.

Same here. Penner is no slouch defensively either however.

He has bettered Fisher offensively 1 year. The difference this year is inconsequential. Penner is a better offensive player, but not by much and not by enough to justify the trade. This coming from the biggest supporter of trading Fisher on the boards.

Fisher is just better. He also doesn't take shifts off, like Penner HAS done in his career, several times. Fisher is 100% hustle.

Wrong.

In 08-09 Penner had 5 more points.

Fisher has only outscored Penner in points for 1 season.

Fisher is better, I agree. But when Penner is motivated it is nearly impossible to strip the puck away from him against the boards.

Fxied

You hit the nail on the head

If Tambo and Lowe locked him in a basement all offseason, beat him, whipped him, and forced him to eat nothing but red meat. Then let all hell break loose on the ice and allow him to take roughly 12 elbowing minors a season, he could be the best beast ever

Will it ever happen, heck no

Proof? You should actually watch some Oilers games first.

We already have Kovalev to worry about with motivation issues.

Solid argument, geographical claims, well played

I'm in your so called "oil country" friend

Dear Oil Nation,

Does your bud Dustin ever take a shift off or not always find consistency in his potential?

Signed this guy above,

PS I was at the SJS beat down, and can have witness testament that I attended, watched Penner stand still on the center ice spot during a PP rush led by Gagner, to which he literally had to go around him because he had yet to move, Gagner would then give him an ear full for not moving his hide

Proof is in your own argument, the games, when he wants no defenseman can take the puck away, the problem is he doesn't always seem to want

I love when people disagree, and the response is: "you should watch some more [insert team here] games."

He has consistency issues, no doubt. He's a 30 goal scorer at the end of the day. The end.

You clearly are underrating Penner.

I didn't mention Penner. I just find that particular response funny.

He is more productive offensively, he just got hurt. Point is, Penner is a minimal offensive upgrade over Fisher.

Fisher is way better than Penner. Points don't tell the whole story. Fisher is more physical, better defensivly, and he plays center.

That doesn't make him a better player. It may make him more valuable, but it does not affect his playing level.
